Yep, neutered male bonds are possible, and it does seem to be mostly about personality.

Male-female bonds do tend to be the most common though. My two boys were NOT a good match so I gave up trying to bond them, but there are lots of members on here with male pairs.

A sudden change in behavior can be a sign of some pain or discomfort. Maybe she has a bit of gas?

I’m sorry you are going through a hard time!

I haven’t gone through a situation like that exactly, but I have spent long stretches of time away from my buns when I’ve lived abroad for work. I was away for 10 months at one point, and I can tell you my bun at the time did not hold a grudge or anything like that!

I also adopted Bertha, one of my…[Read more]

Hay, it looks pretty normal to me! I’ve had this experience with my bun before, and I was a little freaked out, but I found out that it was normal soon enough. Sometimes bald spots can appear when buns are molting, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. Pepita is absolutely beautiful, by the way! She reminds me a lot of my previous ginger bun, Nutmeg ♥

@DanaNM – Lol, I was gonna say that, but then I was like… heh, I don’t wanna pressure. But seriously… Peanut pics! Lol, I just know he’s adorable! ♥

Thank you so much for your reply, it really means a lot to me.  I’m sorry you were in a similar position as a teen-I know it sucks.  I will be allowed to facetime home a half hour every day so I’m glad I’ll be able to see him, and can bring a bunch of pictures of him. I’ve gone on a few weekend trips where they took care of him so they know most o…[Read more]

It doesn’t seem to urgent in her opinion either since everything else seems normal.

I’m going to let her vet eyeball it Monday but just wanted to make sure the hive mind didn’t see something I wasn’t 😛

It generally looks pretty normal to me. I don’t see anything unusual. I actually don’t see any bare skin in the photos? That being said some rabbits, like one of mine, will often molt in areas where the fur hasn’t actually grown in yet, so bare spots are around during this time of year. The fact that you’re seeing healthy skin rather than flaky,…[Read more]

Regardless of sex, it’s more so personality of each rabbit and how and where you are doing introductions that will determine if rabbits will be intensely aggressive upon meeting. There are many neutered male bonds, although it is less common.

The bonding process can be long, but it’s not exclusively determined by sex at all.

    Hi everybody i

I was looking for a friend for my one-year-old neutered male bunny, and I was wondering whether you could bond two neutered males of the same age without them ripping each other apart because they may have “stray” hormones. Both males have been neutered a few months ago.

    Hi.
I reached out and spoke to someone from a rabbit rescue and they said that from the photos the bunnies look bonded or at least close so I should go ahead with the 48 hours and see how it goes.
I guess I can always separate them long term then if it doesn’t work out and have them play together when supervised.
Next week I will plan to spend t…[Read more]

Hi there!  This is Pepita.  She’s my best bun!

She has been doing her seasonal molt thing (we live in Virginia US) but this morning as we were having a bit of apple for breakfast treats I noticed a weird undercoat patch.

Upon further inspection I found a bald spot on her left hip.  No dander so I’m assuming not mites.  Not scabby or wet or ooz…[Read more]

    Hello 🙂

Thx so much for sharing your story! I couldn’t find much online, so was really curious what others had experienced. My dog is eating and playing a bit more, so I think things are improving, but I’ll of course continue to give her lots of love. It’s actually nice in a way to see that Clover really did have such an impact, and my ‘lil…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. Dogs can certainly grieve! I think most animals can (elephants will even die of a broken heart 😢)! I think part of it is confusion since their daily routine is disrupted and their friend is not there. My cat was essentially bonded to my bunny — they would groom each other, sleep together, play together, etc. my bun…[Read more]

Hi there! First of all, im sorry you’re being involuntarily admitted. I don’t know your struggles but I was in a similar position when I was a teen. I hope you know your family has the best of intentions and want you to be health and happy! I don’t have experience with service animals or being away from my bun for an extended period of time, but I…[Read more]

Ok my friends, I have another question for you!

as background, Wolfie and Tina are doing well overall. For two days in a row we were together for 2 hr dates with no mounting or nips, though I’m still pretty involved. They’re displaying neutral and positive behavior: they eat together, will self groom, play and explore. Yesterday they started mir…[Read more]

Hi, in this post there will be talk about mental health/treatment stuff so TW regarding that.

My single bunny Gus is free roaming in my room and super cuddly and affectionate so I spend a good few hours a day snuggling with him.  Since I am a minor, I will be involuntarily admitted to a treatment center (I can’t really disclose what) but it will…[Read more]
