thanks @pinkiemarie thanks for the advice! I have box fan blowing at damp towels and a smaller one into a bowl of ice & water (progressively more water) and we blocked all the windows that we could. Honestly can’t tell if the evaporation cooler it is working… our humidity is about 50%, so it may be struggling. His room is the coolest in the…[Read more]

Hey I’m right there with you! I’ve got mine in a bonding pen and we’re making slow progress and I always have worse trouble from Clover in the morning. The thing is she gets energized and bored and hungry all at the same time. So a few thoughts. Clover eats more at night than during the day and I actually have to refill her hay at like one in the…[Read more]

Ok so the less expensive Small Pet Select option has a lot of soy and also molasses but the soy free option doesn’t appear to have added sugars. I’ll need to look up a couple of ingredients to verify that but I’ll try it if nobody has a different recommendation that has worked well for their dysbiosis bunny!

Oh I haven’t tried those. The ones he eats now are hay based but they do have a lot of other ingredients. And the Oxbow Essentials that he was eating actually have some molasses if I remember correctly. I’m surprised that her problem hasn’t cleared up. Usually it should be much better within 2 weeks. Wally had nice firm cecotropes after one week…[Read more]

They actually haven’t done ANY mounting at all – Maurice didn’t with his last buddy either. Such a weirdo!

I think maybe Snowy is trying to play or wants attention… She runs up to him and he freaks out and runs away which just makes her chase him more – she binkies while she’s chasing him which makes me think she’s enjoying the game! Although I…[Read more]

You could rescue a bun online. On websites like Craiglist etc., people advertise buns that they can no longer care for, and a lot of the time those buns become snake food. By looking online, you can rescue a bun without supporting pet stores or breeders. There are so many buns out their who need homes! ♥

Also, maybe small pet select has pellets that his tummy will agree with? I’m pretty sure their pellets are hay-based… I’m thinking of ordering my bun’s pellets from there.

I’m still struggling with Binkie, and this cecal dysbiosis thing. She’s been on a hay diet for over two weeks (nearly three?), and I don’t think anything has changed. If it’s diet related, wouldn’t her mushy cecotropes be clearing up now? As for the problem with the pellets, I haven’t been feeding them to my bun, and she still has ceco problems……[Read more]

I think the carrier I got is 24″ by 15″, which is a good size for my two rabbits – one is 2.5lb and the other is 7lb.

Has anyone here with a cecal dysbiosis bun had any luck feeding pellets? My guy had some issues when he was eating Oxbow Essentials but I didn’t realize yet what the issue was. I changed to Oxbow Garden Select for other reasons. I ended up doing hay and romaine only for a bit and got him feeling better and now we have some poopy butt again. I had…[Read more]

Ah thank you! I got a pretty cheap soft sided carrier for my new girl originally. I knew it was a temporary solution, but didn’t anticipate how temporary. In a few weeks she somehow managed to rip it along the seam by the zipper. Only realized it yesterday when I packed her up to leave our bonding area and was wrangling my other bun into his c…[Read more]

Ah thank you! I looked at the tokihut and saw reviews, but wanted hear from people first hand. My new girl is a bit crazy and loves to play — she actually enjoys the toys my boy wouldn’t touch (nice to feel appreciated!). I’m thinking she’s a big of a chewer too so it’s good to know durability of both options. I’ll look into them both more! I thin…[Read more]

Thanks for the tip on the chinchilla cooling stones. Looks like just what I’ve been looking for.

Chewy has them by 3, get one free, so I ordered 4.

Hope the bunnies like.  We only have a window a/c and sometimes it just can’t keep up.
