Bath mats? The loofah ones or just a regular soft bath mat?

A/C arrived day after heat dissipated, oh well will be nice to have! And I totally get the aesthetic part. I was worried about the dirt… I mean I am pretty sure it wouldn’t hurt him but he is a very clean bun and refused to step on the concrete and didn’t like his little white paws were not as pristine as usual.  Dorian is now very happy to be…[Read more]

OMG the chasing over treats is such an issue! Cooper will go after Bonnie if he hears anything that sounds remotely like the treat bag. I have to time them so they aren’t right next to each other when I get the bag out!

Agree with others, I would move forward! As long as you are seeing lots of other positive signs (cuddling, hanging out together, sharing food, and just generally being relaxed around each other), then having two-way grooming is not essential!

Echo everything Wick said, and I would also wait until your female is spayed and all the babies are gone. Having a hormonal rabbit around can definitely complicate things, even in fully bonded pairs. I once had an unneutered male in my bathroom overnight (I was taking him to the rescue in the morning), and my bonded pair was FREAKING out. So smell…[Read more]

I prob would have done the same. I’m sure Tony will end up in a great home. <3 And perhaps Phil will be happier being the queen of the castle again!

DanaNM replied to the topic Mini Rex Sore Hocks! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 2 months ago

The sores on the middle of the foot look very red and angry to me, I would personally go to the vet to have them take a look before attempting wrapping. My bun Bertha had a sore that looked like that on her foot and it turned out to be a small abscess that needed to be cleaned out by the vet.  The heel looks fine, and it’s more normal to have a…[Read more]

I’m so sorry she isn’t getting better. 🙁

I fostered a bun with what seemed to be chronic cecal dysbiosis and cecal dysautonomia (aka. disfunction of the nerves of the cecum). My vet was extremely rabbit savvy, and suspected that he may have something similar to cow pile syndrome (megacolon), as he had the coloration that tends to be linked to…[Read more]

Mentronidazole is a bunny safe antibiotic that is effective on bacteria that dont need oxygen to thrive. It’s typically given for persistent tummy trouble that does not respond to standard treatment such as a hay only diet.

You can give a probiotic too, a few hours before or after the antibiotic. Probiotics are bacteria and, in the case of buns,…[Read more]

I know this isn’t your question, but did the vet assess for what is causing the urine scalding? If the root of the problem isn’t solved (i.e. your rabbit urinating on himself enough to cause scald), then he will never heal and it will keep being this.

I personally don’t have experience with urine scalding, but I imagine a fastened soft fabric,…[Read more]

My poor 9 year old male bun started urinating outside of the litter box about a week ago, and I thought it was out of character and could be indication of an underlying medical issue. My vet assured me that it was nothing to be worried about.

I cleaned the cage this week and noticed a large amount of fur clumps around the cage. I thought they…[Read more]

Sounds great, glad they are doing so well! Ruby still charges and growls at Elmer when they hear me open the treats. I guess she is afraid he already got something? Thankfully he evades her with hops and running in circles and doesn’t get too upset.  I have to give them the exact quantity that they will finish at the same time so no one tries to…[Read more]

I would at least call the vet to get a safe prescription and ask if they feel that they need to see her again.

Hot potato, hot potato (hot potato, hot potato)
Hot potato, hot potato (hot potato, hot potato)
Hot potato, hot potato (potato), potato (potato)
    Potato, potato, potato

I’ve been singing this since reading this post. Lol.

You can always search MediRabbit as a reliable place to identify what is OK and not for rabbits. Typically I’ll google Medirabbit and the medication name. From Medirabbit, metronidazole is another antibiotic.

Dorian is so cute! I love seeing him flopping on the little bed 🙂

Hopefully you’re all staying cool enough & safe amongst the various crazy weather and heat patterns all over! Luckily it hasn’t been crazy where I am at, just super humid – but that is a usual in the summer months for us.
