Thank you so much for your input!! Like you said, I’ll keep with what’s working and like the idea of expanding to the whole bathroom so they get slippery and traction. I’m just a little worried about when we go to carpet because of the experience with the x pen but there must be outside factors at play.
They have full access to the upstairs…[Read more]

Thank you for all the background!
I would definitely stick with the bathtub if that’s working out better! It’s suprising they behaved that way in the x-pen but you never know what’s going on in those bunny brains. I’m not sure where their home-bases are located, but it could be something to do with the general smell of the area. If the x-pen…[Read more]

I have been working on bonding my two male lionheads, 1 yr and 8 months, and all went extremely well at first with them having no problems for three hours at a time in an x pen downstairs. Then I believe the younger one (Lenny) decided he wanted to be dominant and tried, but failed, to sway the older (Frankie). They fought for a few days every…[Read more]

My intention is every month, but realistically once every 2 months.

As LBJ mentions, this is common for younger rabbits. Since their diet is much more nutrient rich, having uneaten cecotropes is rarely an issue, as they are eating the majority of them. RE: eating of regular poop, this also isn’t something too concerning. Many rabbits do this to varying degrees for different reasons. Ultimately, as long as you’re…[Read more]

He’s young and this is normal, especially for young bunnies. They are typically eating a richer diet to help them grow. A side effect is excess cecotropes. They simply make more than they can eat. This problem usually resolves itself when they transition to an adult diet. As for the regular poop eating… yeah, that’s normal too.

Hi!
New overprotective bunny mama here…. I’ve noticed that my 9 week old buns has not eaten his cecotropes twice this week. I’ve read that is not a good thing so obviously have been stressing… I’ve noticed he has seemed to be eating his regular poop more often though! He is still eating and playing as normal, everything else seems fine with him.…[Read more]
