I’m glad to hear they have bonded and are happy! They sound “closer ” than my 2 🙂 One of mine is very weird about being under something low to the ground like the bed (he “buzzes” and thumps but stays under running back and forth). It’s odd and I don’t like him under because he won’t come out, so I blocked my bed also. I bought some wooden p…[Read more]

#1: Some rabbits need to be separated at food time if they eat at different paces. This isn’t super unusual. You could also take to sneak feeding Gus later in the day to ensure he gets enough. Re: the mushy poops, how is her hay intake objectively, and then how is it relative to intake of non-hay foods? Typically, as long as a rabbit is eating…[Read more]

Just another update! We’ve been pen sharing since Sunday — so almost a full 4 days with no issues apart from the weird under the bed confusion we had (which I posted about in a different thread). Long story short, Wolfie didn’t recognize Pixie when she was under the bed and was utterly freaked out. Bed is more securely blocked now so we don’t…[Read more]

Hello all, we’re moving house this month and thought I’d ask you guys about things I may have forgotten when it comes to the rabbits and other pets. We’re moving local so we won’t be moving everything in one day, but the large furniture and pets will all be going on one day for the main move. Most likely in multiple trips rather than one big truck…[Read more]

just that he has finished seeing a vet to clean his eyes from gunk from his rubbing it.
The vet cleaned it with an eye wash and gave meds for his recovery to a better health. So i had the idea as many have I am sure on how to clean the fur all around his eyes when it rubs its self in his daily cleaning. just take a small drop or two of Saline…[Read more] -

Bam replied to the topic Cradling vs Trancing…? Very Anxious Owner! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 5 years, 2 months ago
To clarify, this is not something you want to do with an adult rabbit unless it’s needed for medical reasons. Most if not all at-home procedures can and should be done without trancing.

Thanks for all the help so far! I have a quick question about humping. I see it every now and then between Nova and Pekoe, always Nova humping. I don’t see any other negative behaviors from them. They sleep cuddled up, insist on sharing one bowl at meal times even though there’s one for each of them, and won’t chase each other out of the litte…[Read more]

Thanks to everyone for their responses.
This is precisely it. Our first rabbit (Toast) was a bit cheeky originally, but we managed to train that out of her and for the last 18 months she’s been the perfect house rabbit. Roams wherever she wants, could be completely safe knowing she’s in any room of the house. However, our new male seems to find…[Read more]

Sonn replied to the topic Soil in Rabbit Dig Box? in the forum BEHAVIOR 5 years, 2 months ago
I use a clean dirt/sand/coco fiber mix in my buns dig box. I would never ever leave them alone with it. My vet said if it even looks like they are nibbling at it to take it away. Luckily both of my boys like to just dig as much out as possible out and roll around in it and that’s it. It also makes for a cool spot to nap in.
