I’m sorry you are going through this with your bunny. It’s possible  her teeth are still sensitive from the trim, sometimes that happens. Some members have had success with soaking hay and offering that to their buns, or fresh grass if you can get it in your area.

Another sign could be if the bun is straining to pee but only pees a tiny amount or no pee at all. On repeat, through the day.

You as a rule see an increase in water consumption and as a consequence a larger total volume pee than usual.

Peeing on soft surfaces certainly isn’t unusual by any means. Why he suddenly decided to do it though? I don’t think anyone can say. He could have been really comfortable. Yes, the flesh part is fine. And like any other fruit – only in small amounts.

A rabbit can pee in his “sleep” if he’s super comfy and resting and being pet, ie in a stste of deep relaxation. My bun Bam could do that sometimes, especially when he was lying in my mom’s lap -he jumped up on her lap himself, so he wasn’t restrained or stressed in any way. Sorry that happened, it’s so stressful when bonds are disrupted! Usually these types of issues are fixable. It seems like sometimes no progress is being made and then they “snap” back together, so I wouldn’t worry to much about things not working out at this point (easier said than done, I know).

Doesn’t look like ear mites. They start in the inner ear and work their way up. This looks like scratches from scraping with long toe nails.

I’ve read it is safe, it small quantities like any other fruit. I have given mine a bit of the melon flesh and had no issues.
