Can you describe what chew toys he has?
I am more inclined to say your rabbit just wanted to eat foam, as many rabbits tend to do because something about foam, plastic, cardboard, fabric… they all seem appetizing to some rabbits.
From my experience, if you are observing him eating and pooping as normal, the foam is probably already out of his…[Read more]

Do you have access to another rabbit-savvy vet? I am completely naiive when it comes to sexing rabbits, but rabbits who have both sex parts do exist. It may be that your rabbit had both parts.

Could you try doing it on the floor then? You can do the C-grip, which is making your hand a “C” (like a Lego person’s hand) and putting it around your rabbit’s neck (in between jaw bone and shoulder bone). You hold this firmly in place in space, so not actually gripping the rabbit’s neck, but keeping it in place in air around it– this prevents…[Read more]

I think separation is a good choice — whatever can make him less stressed.
Monitor the temperature of his ears — if they are cold, try to warm him up by petting him, getting him to move around, and providing some blankets for him to snuggle against.
If it is gas (which I hope it is!), your rabbit isn’t going to want to move, but movement can…[Read more]

Gus is starting to take a turn for the worse and we have no idea what to do.
He is having a hard time getting CC down, refusing. I was only able to get about a quarter of a dose in him. He took his dose of meds fine this morning.
We split him and Lily up because he has been scared of her, as I said I think she was bullying him. He won’t come out…[Read more]

Hi Everyone, I am new here. I have had Butterscotch and Harry since November 2020, they will be 1 in August.
Harry chews on everything… but his chew toys. He gets bored so quickly and it’s not worth spending the money. However, I can usually distract him with hay.
Recently I noticed that he has eaten quite a bit of the foam matt under his…[Read more]

I’m sorry the vet wasn’t much help. Simethicone helps with gas. I hope he feels better soon!

Hey guys, I’m at my wits end 😕 my bunny absolutely hates being picked up so it’s impossible to administer ear drops without him running away and us having to chase after him for 30 minutes before managing to get a squirt in. And he shakes his ears so hard after the medication. How do I make sure the ear drops actually goes in and any sug…[Read more]

Hi LBJ10. At the top of my original post there is link that’s says IMG_6339
If you click it, hopefully a short video will load? I attempted to upload it earlier but admittedly am not that savvy. Any guidance is so appreciated. 🙏🏻

Update:
Emergency vet said in order to diagnose he would have to run a lot of tests that we -quite frankly- don’t have the money for at the moment. He couldn’t even give his best guess.
I asked about what you guys suggested and he said they didn’t have the tools to look at his molars or anything aside from incisors but that what he could see…[Read more]

Agree with Wick 100%.
Babies get along with anyone and anything. They aren’t bonded right now, they simply lack the hatred adult rabbits have for other rabbits they aren’t bonded to.
Separating them isn’t optional unfortunately, if you don’t you will end up with a pregnant baby bunny. At best you’ll have a litter to take care of, at worst she…[Read more]

Thank you all for the replies.
My partner and I didn’t wanna take the risk with Gus and headed out straight away to the emergency vet near us. We are currently waiting in our car to have him seen by a doctor but the nurse said his vitals were stable.
We have fed him a bit of critical care and he seems to be perking up just a bit while we…[Read more]

Sorry for the misunderstanding, when I said “veggies” that was inclusive of leafy greens (basically any fresh foods).
And Wick is correct, I think the benefit from alfalfa would come from the additional protein as it’s a legume rather than a grass.
