Young bunnies can be free-fed. Within reason, of course. You want them to still eat plenty of hay. So yes, it’s OK to leave the pellets out for them to nibble on at their leisure. If you find they aren’t consuming enough hay, then you can take away the pellets at night to see if that helps.

I think 80 F is a safe cut off (I would use the temps in your bun’s area, but if you’re not sure you could just go with the forecasted temp). Most are not toxic. I would order them form a trusted rabbit store, or from Etsy. If it from esty I would look at reviews and chose one with a lot of good reviews ( that are recent ). I have one to my bunny’s one time and they loved it. Too bad I can’t remember where I got it.

Rabbits should not live outside. There are many risks with living outside. One of those risks is that an animal would be able to break into the rabbits living space and have it for a meal. I’m having a bit of trouble following your post.  If I read it correctly you have 2 pairs, a m-f and a m-m, and all the boys are neutered? And then another female that you want to add into a trio? Is your question about what to do with the m-f pair?

How old are your rabbits?

If they are young (under 6 months or so) they can be free-fed, meaning you can leave their pellets out for them.

If your bunnies normally finish their pellet ration right away and suddenly don’t finish them, that means they could be feeling sick or in pain.

Hmmm, it could be early stages of fur mites. It’s a bit hard to tell from the photos, but with fur mites sometimes the skin just looks a bit dry in the early stages. I’ve seen fur mites present first on the back of the ear, so the location fits.

So if the amount of pellets you’re providing is too much, no. Reduce the pellets and take away the bowl. If you are feeding a fine amount, it is fine to leave the bowl overnight. That being said, a rabbit not finishing pellets is sort of unusual so I’d be curious on what you’re feeding your rabbits that pellets are left over.
