Ours is 6 yrs old and has lived in our front yard since we got him when he was 1 yr old. He’s quite happy. THe front yard is entirely fenced in. Nothing can get in or out except via the gate, which we use. Not even wild rabbits, which we have in our neighborhood, can get in.
At any rate, my question dealt with temperature/climate not the an…[Read more]

Young bunnies can be free-fed. Within reason, of course. You want them to still eat plenty of hay. So yes, it’s OK to leave the pellets out for them to nibble on at their leisure. If you find they aren’t consuming enough hay, then you can take away the pellets at night to see if that helps.

He sounds like an unusually affectionate bunny. Notice I said unusual… not unheard of. I don’t think there is anything wrong with him. But keep in mind that things could change as he gets older. Bunnies, in general, can become more standoff-ish as they transition into adulthood. Considering how affectionate he is now, it’s hard to say how…[Read more]

They don’t always follow the same pattern… so it’s possible. I’d say if you don’t see fur growing in soon, then it’s time to explore other options. Like Dana said, early fur mite infections can look similar.

He sounds like my newest bunny Cooper! We always joke that he’s “broken” because he shows no fear, wants to be on your lap, wants literally any attention, and grooms us constantly. You bun is maybe even a bit more extreme than Cooper, but some bunnies are just weirdos and don’t follow the “rules”. He might change a bit (especially with regards…[Read more]

I think 80 F is a safe cut off (I would use the temps in your bun’s area, but if you’re not sure you could just go with the forecasted temp). Around 80 F is where you start worrying about heat stroke in rabbits as a rule of thumb. However, if the temp spikes up way above the normal temps, you might want to bring him in sooner (like if it’s been in…[Read more]

Most are not toxic. I would order them form a trusted rabbit store, or from Etsy. If it from esty I would look at reviews and chose one with a lot of good reviews ( that are recent ). I have one to my bunny’s one time and they loved it. Too bad I can’t remember where I got it.

Hello,
I am new here. My current bunny is a male dusted pearl mini lop named Giuseppe.
I have had him since he was about 3 months old, now he’s a little over 5 months, and his personality is much different than my previous bunny (RIP Binky).
I have been reading up and watching YouTube videos on rabbit behavior and to be honest, he doesn’t seem…[Read more]

Rabbits should not live outside. There are many risks with living outside. One of those risks is that an animal would be able to break into the rabbits living space and have it for a meal. Another risk is RHDV2 a deadly rabbit virus spreading like wildfire. Also 80 degrees would be too high but I am not going to get into that ( at least not yet )…[Read more]

We keep our pet rabbit in an enclosed front yard most of the year during the daytime. With the local heat wave we’re having this summer in the Pacific NW, Temps regularly are 80 degrees or more. But there is shade in the yard much of the day. So Temps in the shade would be lower.
Should I use the temperature in the shade as an indicator to br…[Read more]

thanks! I think the horror stories I read are more about doggie poo, which then gets smeared everywhere the vacuum goes (sorry for that image 😛 )

Hello everybun!
I wanted to buy bamboo finger traps as a toy for my bun but was unsure of the colours used in them?
I see many bunny shops sell some but I don’t know if they are always safe or if the colours are toxic ?
Thank you for any help on this topic 🙂

Thank you for the detailed info!
So none of this sounds too out of the ordinary! My main recommendation is just to keep at it and work to prevent fighting in the bonding sessions, but a few other things jump out to me. First, it sounds like there wasn’t too much settling in time for the new bun before starting bonding stuff? She also sounds…[Read more]

I’m having a bit of trouble following your post. If I read it correctly you have 2 pairs, a m-f and a m-m, and all the boys are neutered? And then another female that you want to add into a trio? Is your question about what to do with the m-f pair?
If your m-f pair is already bonded and the M is already neutered, I think you could try just…[Read more]
