    Hello again,

I have a 10 month old Holland Lop named Annie. Just to provide you guys with a little background Annie suffered from a ear/respiratory infection a couple months back šŸ™ Our vet at the time misdiagnosed Annies ear infection as a fungal infection and prescribed a spray (which was recommended for dogs)…Ā  long story short the spray…[Read more]

I buy 3- or 5-pack of rectangular, plain cardboard cat scratchers and my Fable destroys them. They are large, you can cut them into chunks and different shapes/sizes as well!

4 years is well into adulthood actually. It may be heat related — with rain comes humidity, and humid heat is not very fun at all… for any animal species! It’s great that you’re seeing him be more active. Rabbits don’t regulate temperature the same way humans do, and they literally are always wearing a fur coat, so it’s important to notice if…[Read more]

If it seems like she has successfully recovered from the spay with no issues (i.e. appetite and energy back to normal, no indicators of pain/discomfort, poop and pee output and quality normal), it probably isn’t spay-related. She actually reminds me a lot of my Fable, who at baseline is a rapid breather. Since there is no discharge, wheezing, or…[Read more]

I have a five month old Flemish Giant doe. She was spayed three weeks ago and since then I have noticed she has been breathing very rapidly. I may be over reacting and just hyper aware of her breathing as I have been hovering since her spay (I had a guinea pig who developed an abscess and a uri after his neuter so I was very nervous). I find she…[Read more]

Ah, re: the food energy, that sounds a lot like Wick. Wick becomes a darting, nipping monster when he senses food (often incorrectly). A few things that have worked for me (notably, Wick’s nips are super weak, so that made things easier to establish systems with him; I realize it can definitely be more intimidating and difficult, and potentially…[Read more]

Yes, it is hot where I’m from. He’s turning 4 years this year. That’s probably true since for the past few days it has been raining more often. And I can see him gradually becoming more active. Can I know what’re some changes that is noticed when the transition to adulthood happens? Thanks so much for your help!

@DanaNM, I don’t know if you remember this or not, but awhile back I made a post when I first got him. He was really scared, so I kind of left him alone for a few days. Now he’s really come out of his shell! He’ll happily hop out of his cage and sniff me, and climb all over me. He’s a really sweet rabbit when he’s outside of his cage, and treat…[Read more]

    Hello! @Wick & Fable:

    1. I’ve had him for about 3 months now.
    2. I have a dog (although he couldn’t care less about the bunny), 2 guinea pigs and 2 gerbils.
    3. Yeas he is neutered. I think it’s been awhile since he doesn’t have a scar or anything from his surgery, but I don’t really know.

    4. He’s in a large playpen right now. He has lots of toy…[Read more]

I’m so sorry for your loss. šŸ™

I would definitely ask them about the anesthetic level, that does seem unusual. Maybe it was a typo in the invoice?

The “snak shak” toy is very popular with my gremlins currently. The large one is about $10 and lasts a while, even with very intense chewing. It’s like this very hard rabbit-safe compressed wood. It’s kinda junk-food-ish, but it’s so hard that they aren’t eating a lot of it at once.

The willow bowls from BB also seem to last a good bit of time…[Read more]

Rabbits can become really cage-aggressive in shelter situations, but there is hope!

Is it possible for you to do the needed cage maintenance when he isn’t in his cage? And I’d also like to know how long you’ve had him.

My foster-fail Bonnie was super cage aggressive when we brought her home (that’s actually why I decided to foster her, because…[Read more]

How long has it been since he last ate, and when might you be able to get him to the vet?

Can you give him simethicone or syringe feed him a little in the meantime?

My rabbit last night was acting normal, playing, using the litterbox, eating, etc. but this morning I saw him sleeping in his litterbox, which is unusual for him and I went to go feed him and I got him some Persley, he didn’t try going for it I thought it strange but I know sometimes he won’t eat them then I went to give one of his favorite,…[Read more]
