No, I mean the square gird holes. I doubt that they could fit there heads though too. My dad though thinks different though. I have tried talking to him about it but he just thinks that he is right.

I agree with LBJ10 (and your OB), EC is not like toxoplasma in terms of parasite type and risk to humans (which you’ve likely heard about as a risk for pregnant women). I found one study that looked at infection with EC in pregnant women.  Infections were rare, and the women who tested positive for EC also had immunological disorders:…[Read more]

With a baby bond, you don’t know if it’s one that will fall apart (common) or stay intact (less common) once the baby becomes hormonal. I always err on the side of caution and recommend owners to keep complete separation and not try bonding until both rabbits are fixed. Ultimately, if a bond is not going to work, it won’t be because you didn’t…[Read more]

    Hi all,

I’m looking for some advice. I got my baby girl Beatrice 10 months ago during COVID when I was off and was home 24/7. Now that I’m back at work my boyfriend and I are looking into adopting a male to be bonded with her. Beatrice will be spayed before we bring the boy home. How difficult is it to bond a 1 year old spayed female with a bab…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear about Oreo, Lauren. It is so clear that Oreo was so loved and cared for– what a wonderful life she had.

You are free to share as many pictures and stories here, if that helps. Ultimately, time will help too. I know it’s tough, and if you have any thoughts of “What if I…” or “I should have…”, I recommend not lingering on…[Read more]

You can try litterboxes with lower lips. Another option is actually modifying how you place the hay in the litterbox. With rabbits, sometimes the devil is in the details. It looks like hay is absolutely dominating the whole litter box, which is GREAT in terms of hay quantity, but perhaps your rabbit is weary to hop in and pee there because rabbits…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Rabbit Spay After Bradycardia Event in the forum DIET & CARE 5 years ago

To be clear, when you say “regular vet”, are you referring to a dog-cat vet who does a lot of spays, or an exotic vet who is not a part of a low-fee clinic system?

It depends on what caused the complication, and I think bloodwork on your rabbit would reveal if there is something underlying with your rabbit that may make her unfit for spaying.…[Read more]

No direct experience, but general research (and savvy) does acknowledge that there’s a chance teeth will grow back. Hopefully something here can highlight some helpful considerations for you: https://rabbit.org/dental-disorders-in-rabbits/#:~:text=It's%20important%20that%20the%20entire,rabbit%20is%20a%20serious%20consideration.

    Hi everyone.

Just over a month ago, Butterscotch had his incisors removed from a local pet vet. They had trimmed his teeth twice for me and recommended that I go to an exotic vet and get them removed because of Malocclusion (here in Ireland). When I priced out the 3 exotic vets that were all over 3 hours away from me and quoted 400 euros, I…[Read more]

I do have a regular exotics vet, it’s more that I was wondering if a spay would even be possible after she suffered a complication the first time, and also looking for a regular vet that does a lot of spays. I personally prefer to use low cost clinics because I know that the vets there are doing spay/neuters on rabbits constantly compared to a…[Read more]

    Hi everyone,

this isn’t something I thought I’d be writing so soon. We had Oreo from when she was 12 weeks old. She became my best friend and the bond we had was unreal.

a few days ago she was off her food but still eating a bit and drinking so thought it was just an off day as she had had it before but the vet said to monitor as she was sti…[Read more]

Sorry in advanced for the novel. I am just desperate for help and figure more information is better. Feel free to read as much as you would like and leave any possible questions or suggestions. I am so desperate I will try anything!

I have 2 Holland Lops, a 1 year old boy (Buddy) and a 2 ½ year old girl (Sadie) (both fixed, and fully bonded).…[Read more]
