Wolfy replied to the topic Low on hay until the 5th. What can I give instead? in the forum DIET & CARE 4 years, 12 months ago
Right now I have a variety of feeds that include different herbs and flowers, specifically looking for those that are high in fibre and don’t mind if it’s used as a daily feed contrary to those that recommend being it fed in small quantities. I have found a few I might use either for daily feed or as an addition to their salads. While it might be…[Read more]

Fresh twigs, as Wick suggests, would be very good. There are lots of trees that are bunny safe, just make sure they’re not treated with pesticides. Apple twigs and willow are as a rule the most appreciated by buns, but twigs from birch or hazel or linden and many other trees might also be interesting. Take off most of the leaves (except from…[Read more]

I’m sorry that you have felt ignored on other platforms — to my knowledge, this is the first time you have posted on Binkybunny forums. For this topic specifically, it is not one people can answer as easily. It is not unusual for more ‘difficult’ questions to not get answered immediately. Not everyone is equipped to answer less commonly asked…[Read more]

I’m sorry noone has replied to your post.
What type of high fiber feed do you have?
If I were to choose between extra pellets and alfalfa, I’d choose the alfalfa hay, and reduce the amount of pellets. (Alfalfa is high in protein and energy and calcium, which is why you should cut back on the pellets). Alfalfa has good long fiber.
If you can get…[Read more]

That’s good!..because as I said, I have hard water 🙁 and it tastes gross. The animals seem to be doing okay with it, I don’t know if they care either way about the taste.
The other thing I’ve been indecisive about, is if I should get the marineland brand, which has MORE zeolite to carbon mix, or if I should spend the money on the imagitarium…[Read more]

The hospital last time sent me home with critical care. It’s been in the freezer like I was told to do. Should I give her some?
I gave her gas drops again now and going to bed. Will set an alarm and check on her in a few hours. Her ears are not super hot but I know buns sometimes regulate there temperature where there ears are not hot. I’m jus…[Read more]

I wouldn’t panic just yet. Keep doing the tummy rubs and gas drops. If she’s pooping, then that’s a good sign.

There is natural zeolite and synthetic zeolite. Both are used for filtration and water softening. The type you linked to is natural. In general, zeolite is said to be non-toxic. I know there have been studies where it was actually fed to mice in powder form and they saw no ill effects. I don’t think using it in a water filter will hurt…[Read more]

Lux again is gurgling bad and not wanting to eat anything. She is still pooping though and when I rub her belly poops come out. I just gave her her second round of baby gas drops. She still has bunitude but I guess I’m just worried cause of the last two times this has happened. Been since about 545 I noticed she hasn’t eaten. She ate all her veg…[Read more]

It would be the below zeolite/carbon mix. I’m not aware that there are other types, so that’s something new to me as well. I think it’s typically used in fish filter media? Which also makes me a bit waffly on whether or not it’s safe to use.

…I don’t understand why I’m ignored on every platform no matter what it is. No, I don’t want to hear “not everyone wants to reply to every thread” because it’s always /mine/ that rarely gets acknowledgement or support. I’m so done.

Bun-chan replied to the topic Bunny not eating: when to go to the vet? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 12 months ago
Thank you so much for your advice!
We did jump the gun and brought him to the emergency vet. At the clinic he acted completely fine, and then started getting agitated because we had to wait a long time (unfortunate cat with internal bleeding). We asked the nurse for some hay and he began eating furiously. We brought him home and he’s back to h…[Read more]

I’ve been using Oxbow hay and both of my rabbits love it. But I am currently finically struggling and am low on hay until I get paid on the 5th. I’m trying to find something that’ll supply them for roughly 2 days ( their hay should last them till tonight or tomorrow ). My options are: pellets ( timothy based ), alfalfa hay ( one is 7-8 months, the…[Read more]
