Do you know if this is coming out of urination or poop? It’s tough because there aren’t many documented cases online, but I know of at least one case where orange mucousy/foamy poop has been associated with high levels of giardia parasite: https://www.reddit.com/r/Rabbits/comments/pssdxt/any_experience_with_giardia_parasite/ … foam is different…[Read more]

Does she leave these stains elsewhere, and how is her diet? Does she consistently have health, dry poops? Some rabbits, especially those with squished faces, actually can be naturally sloppy at eating cecotropes so they leave stains everywhere…

Hmmm, this is an interesting idea!

I imagine you could…. if you dried them well enough? I think the main concern would be mold forming if the sugar content or moisture was too high? Maybe soaking in a really dilute solution and then drying in a low oven?

What region of the world are you in? Are you concerned about shipping times or delays? I guess I’m just curious about why you want to stock up.

How much you buy really depends on how often you want to re-order and what kinda of space you have for storage. If you want to buy a lot at once, it makes the most sense to find a feed shop and buy a…[Read more]

That’s great the mounting calmed down and the clean bills of health!

I’m not sure about the cut, can you post a picture? Any ideas what could have caused it? Also since that’s new topic you might get more replies if you start a new thread.

Hmmm, maybe her anal glands need to be cleaned? Have you inspected her bum area?

The safest thing for buns that enjoy being outside is to set up an exercise pen and let them explore in that, with you supervising, as you are already doing. 🙂

Maybe making it bigger and adding some tunnels would help him explore it more?

    Were her poops looking normal?

I’ve seen weird jelly with poops before in a bun that was having GI issues. Sometimes there can be mucous in the poop with intestinal irritation.

But, given the spay, I think it’s wise for the vet to the urine sample and see if it could be from some sort of infection. Does her spay incision look OK?

The most important things with harnesses are that you need a stretchy leash, I got mine from Kaytee harness but I don’t use the harness it came with because they could escape that one. H harnesses are the safest. You would need to take your time harness training and keep in mind that it isn’t for every bunny. It took one of my bunnies less than a…[Read more]

It is correct I got my rabbit and her littermates were white, brown, grey, and she is white brown, grey, and orange. Also, my rabbit’s tail changes color when she molts.

    Hi everyone.

I have recently got a new bunny Pandora (1 year old doe) to bond to my male bunny Poe. We got her spayed 2 weeks ago and about a week after her spay we noticed these really small, orange specks all over her litterbox (there were loads scattered). It would not be obvious just looking at the litterbox but since I use black rubber…[Read more]

I wouldn’t be too worried. Just check daily to see if you notice anything if you are worried about it. It sounds like binkys and grooming.

Bunnies eat different amounts of hay daily. One of my bunnies eats like a small handful and the other eats two giant handfuls daily. About how much would you guess they eat daily?

She scratches her neck/head, close to her ears. The skin looks normal and she doesn’t really do that as often in her hutch.

I am a new bunny Mom with 9 bunnies that I rescued. I have bonded with all of them fairly well. But I’m having an issue with one of my females, Jumper. I kept Jumper and her sister, Nosey together until I found Nosey being so aggressive with Jumper that they were fighting. Jumper was so scared that she was “crying”. I had no choice but to separate…[Read more]

Agree that is looks like some sort of swelling in response to a prick of some sort, which does welcome the potential of abscess. You can try and clean it with some plain saline, but it won’t sanitize things.

It shouldn’t be too expensive to get a broad antibiotic to prevent/treat any infection, though you’ll still need to spend money on the exam.…[Read more]

If the jump and head shake is in response to being let out, it is likely a binky.

Where is she itching and does the skin/fur look unusual in those areas?

    Hi!

I brought a 12 week old lionhead bunny home a couple of days ago. It’s been ages since I’ve had one so I’m not used to their behaviors at all. I keep being paranoid and thinking she’s ill. I’ve had her for for about 4 days and yesterday she started to shake her head and jump when I let her out for playtime. She also scratches herself quite…[Read more]
