Hi everyone,
I hope someone can provide some advice or maybe someone has been in a similar experience.
I have an older bunny. As you can see from last year, he had his teeth trimmed, and that was the only big health event of his life until that point. From there, we went through a cycle of him not eating, a lot of syringe feeding, GI stasis, and…[Read more]

Yeah… Youtube- or the channels I have viewed have been very- ”do this or you are not fit for a bunny”, ”your bunny hates this” or ”You need this item for your bunny to be happy.”… so it’s- definitely a bit stressful at times so I try to take it with a grain of salt…
I am definitely looking to get her spayed- just in case and for her…[Read more]

Oh no, this is so sad. 🙁 I’m so so sorry, and I agree with others there must have been something really wrong. And of course you don’t need to delete your account or make any decisions at all about the future.

Looks normal to me! My buns poop color will vary between batches of hay. When the hay is more grassy and soft (like orchard grass) their poops will be darker. More crunchy dry stalks lead to lighter colored poops.

Hmmm, I don’t really have anything to add, but wondering if her poops tend to look good (uniform size and round shape?) in between stasis episodes?

I’m so sorry Susanne, was this Snoopy? You worked so hard with his bond 🙁
I agree with the others that it sounds like a bad coincidence. My understanding about most of those poisons is that once they are dry there is very little risk of things transferring (I had my house sprayed for ants last year and was worried as well), so I doubt you…[Read more]

I’m glad you feel better! Youtube can definitely be an overwhelming source of information! There are lots of opinions about the only “right” way to keep rabbits, when the reality is they are just opinions and every rabbit (and every human owner) is different.
If you have any specific questions that pop up, the Rabbit Info section on this site is…[Read more]

Thank you! I really truly appreciate it- just even a little reassurance is really nice. I’ve never had a bunny, nor an inside bunny! So now that it’s been a few days and things have calmed more down, I’ve of course gotten a bit more comfortable…
I’ve always been known as ‘the cat guy’, and the guy who’d end up being a crazy ‘cat grandpa’? so a…[Read more]

I thank you so much for your advice! I had to kinda sleep on it and relax a bit. I had a hectic weekend on the day of getting her and it took a lot of communicating with my housemate to calm myself down a bit. With my Autism, I am a very routine person, so it probably also freaked me out that I had a new responsibility to work into my routine, As…[Read more]

she did a course of prednisone for approx 6 weeks but most of that was weaning off. i am in southern california and got 2 second opinions before starting her on the prednisone. there is so much scary literature about it so when it was originally suggested i panicked. but every exotic i took her to suggested it since she wasnt responding to nsaids.…[Read more]

Thank you for looking at it.
He’s our only bun at the moment.
We’ve since found some sharp bits on his x-pen, the door isn’t great and a couple of the tie wraps were cut short. I can only think he has caught himself when he’s been zooming around. We have since put black tape over so it’s not sharp anymore.
We’ll keep a close eye on him and hopeful…[Read more] -

The scabs look good, dry and no redness and you’ve felt for lumps. It doesnt look like an emergency to me, more like something you could deal with at home with normal wound care. But how did he get the sores? Is he living near another rabbit that could have bit him?
I once had a bun that got 2 similar looking round sores in each ear after…[Read more]

We noticed last night that our bun has two scabs on his back. They move with the skin, there is no lump underneath and he is acting and eating, pooping etc as normal.
He was neutered 10 days ago. Do you think they will heal, should we just keep an eye or make a vets appointment?
thank you for any help!

Thanks both. That makes me feel a little better, though still such a bummer. Just had got him bonded too.
