I’m sorry bonding is put on hold still. But they look cute together anyway! 🙂

Thank you so much for providing more help with the link you have given me!! But sadly the links given there did not work and my country is not listed there but thank you very much for helping me out!! And I did ask about the frequency of rabbit patients and neutering/GI stasis cases they have done before registering my bunny to the current vet I…[Read more]

Hazel makes a good point. A rich diet (alfalfa-based) can cause excess cecotrope production. Sometimes this isn’t really an issue and will resolve once the bunny is transitioned to a grass hay-based diet. However, some bunnies can get excess cecotropes that are mushy and it can cause poopy butt.

There are some suggested questions to ask potential vets in this thread:

How to find a Vet for rabbits

They can help you determine if the vet knows rabbits and is qualified to perform a spay.

Thank you so much!! Well I wish your bunny all the best too once they are spayed ^_^ ,, I do have one cage (not sure about the exact measurements but he can stand on his hind legs too and also have enough room for him to hop maybe 2-3 steps each time) since my mom bought it, thinking he could sleep in it but he does not haha he would just bite the…[Read more]

Ask as many questions you want!

A newly spayed bun should be in a cageor a small pen, preferably. For boys this isnt needed, since boys’ neuter-incisions are small and heal quickly. For girls it is however important. I am getting my girl spayed next months and plan to keep her in a cage for at least a week after. The cage I have is 0.5 × 1 meter…[Read more]

Thank you so much on the information and the advice you have given!! Not planning on bonding moon with any other bun since they are the only bun in the house and also I would like to ask about the room restriction? How could I restrict him from moving around after spaying? I am currently watching almost all the videos about spaying on youtube…[Read more]

So you’re transitioning from Timothy pellets to Alfalfa pellets? If you’re unhappy with the quality of the old pellets I would switch him to Oxbow adult pellets at this point. What breed is he? At his age he doesn’t need Alfalfa pellets, unless he’s a giant breed, once they stop growing there’s no need for Alfalfa at all. Eating both Alfalfa hay…[Read more]

Spaying a female rabbit is a lot more invasive than neutering a boy. So you need to find a vet who has done many stays and has the right equipment to properly sedate the bun. The risks are higher than with a male neuter, but so are the risks if you don’t spay. Single males are neutered mostly for the owner’s convenience, female rabbits are…[Read more]

I’m very sorry to hear about Nia’s passing. You are absolutely welcome to post separately about Nia in the Rainbow Bridge. Binky free Nia.

    Regarding your bulleted questions:

    • Deciding if/when to get another rabbit is going to be dependent on both yourself and Ta. Every rabbit and owner manage grief in different ways. At the minimum, I do…

Hello everyone, firstly apologies if this post is in the wrong forum. I wasn’t sure whether to post here or on Rainbow Bridge. We’ve lost one of our bonded girls and we’re wondering whether we should adopt another bun for the girl who’s been left behind.

Nia and Ta are 5 years old and have never spent a day apart. They are spayed house bunnies…[Read more]

Obviously, this isn’t ideal. But it is better than having them fight or mate (if it turns out there is one of each sex). They should be kept separate until they can be spayed (and/or neutered). Once that is done and they are healed, you should be able to bond them properly. This will also cut down on aggressive behavior toward your cat. As long as…[Read more]

Most people don’t use a liner in the litter box. The litter itself should be sufficient in soaking up any liquid.

LBJ10 replied to the topic Help bunny has sore foot! in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 11 months ago

It doesn’t look like it is an emergency… but I agree with Dana that this may need to be addressed by a vet. If there is a lump there, that would suggest it isn’t a simple case of a sore hock. Wick is correct though, pressure sores can develop on the front feet.

Happy spooktober everyone! Here is a creepy-lit photo of Wick and Fable, haha. For those not familiar with my pair, they are a ‘one-sided’ bond, where Fable loves Wick, but it is not mutual. Wick is restricted to a small space due to a paw injury, so they will not be bonded for a very long time, if ever.
