Hello!
I am working with a professional on my anxiety and other mental health issues. I’m finding bunny care to be stressful and would like advice or find out more about how other bunny owners are caring for their bunnies daily.
I am currently bonding my second rabbit with my first rabbit and there are multiple bunny spaces that I clean up each…[Read more]

Okay. I was just a little worried over the chances of him being too much for her due to the age difference, thank you!

Sometimes hormones are like someone switching a light on. One day they aren’t exhibiting hormonal behaviors and the next day they are.

If she is spayed and healed, then I don’t think it matters when you start the bonding process. People bond younger bunnies to older bunnies all the time.

She has already been spayed and transitioned to Timothy Hay. Now, it’s more of the matter at what age should I start trying to bond her with my other rabbit who is a little older than her and wasn’t sure if to start once she’s a year old, but may be tricky since I don’t really know her exact birthday / when she’ll be one. My past assumption was…[Read more]

That’s great! Some bunnies really do make themselves at home pretty quickly. 🙂

I agree, her hormones have kicked in! Things should improve after she’s spayed, but it may take a few weeks for her hormones to settle.

If you don’t have an exact birthdate, then you can’t really know for sure, but if you’ve had her since January then she is old enough to be spayed and switched to timothy hay. In fact, even young rabbits can have timothy hay as long as there is alfalfa in the pellets.
Whether she is 9-12 months really doesn’t matter at this point, she’s old…[Read more]

Haha! It’s very normal. This is a classic case of hormonal marking.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure but played it by ear. The way I set up the enclosure was that one has the run of a hallway and second bedroom (while still having a part of the room with the other bun), and I wanted to let him run around more. And he did a lot of zoomies and binkies! He actually did seem settled within a couple of days. He is not very skittish…[Read more]

I have a 5 month old Netherland Dwarf and her litter box habits have been great up until a couple days ago. Now when I let her out for play time, she pees and poops all over the floor, which has never happened before. She still uses the litter box when she’s locked inside her cage. I know this could be because she is unspayed, but this was a very…[Read more]

I’ve always been stumped by this; first it was determining her age so I’d know when to get her spayed and start changing her alfalfa hay to timothy hay.
she was 8 weeks on January 21st, when I put that in her profile in a vet clinic I work that ( as I was trying to get her seen for a checkup ), it estimated her age at 10 months but I’m still…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic bunny has fur mites in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 4 years, 10 months ago
What LBJ10 mentions is correct. Please see here for information on the different types of mites and how they each require different treatments: https://wabbitwiki.com/wiki/Mites
At-home treatment for mites is not advised due to guidance needed for actually distinguishing the correct cause (ex. it could be syphilis or fungal infections; not mites)…[Read more]

I’m very sorry for your loss. 🙁 He sounds like he had a wonderful life with you.
I’m glad Slyvester is doing OK, he may have said his goodbyes before Monty went to the vet. Sometimes they know what’s going on before we do.

DanaNM replied to the topic Room mate's rabbit does /not/ like me! in the forum BONDING 4 years, 10 months ago
Oooh those Dutch rabbits can be very opinionated!
Is the bunny spayed? If not, that could explain a lot of the behaviors! Spaying is also important to prevent reproductive cancer. Can you ask your roommate to get a taller pen so the bunny can’t escape? That seems important for safety issues too.
In terms of bonding with the bunny, do you notice…[Read more]

I usually like to let them just settle in for a week with no side swaps, then do side swaps after that, but if he seems very settled then it’s your call!
