So, disclaimer is that I have not successfully bonded a trio. š I have 2 failed trio attempts and one failed quad, but all attempts involved the same two girls that were just not having it. So take my advice with a grain of salt! But I have bonded many pairs successfully lol
How big is the bonding area? I’ve always found that litter boxes can…[Read more]

You’re welcome! It really is so hard to navigate your first time doing it! Every bond is different and what works for some may not work for others, and there are often many different approaches that will work.Ā And yeah, no clue why there is such a difference but it could be that Frankie is so anxious that it actually has the opposite effect.Ā A…[Read more]

Thank you so much for your input!!Ā Like you said, I’ll keep with what’s working and like the idea of expanding to the whole bathroom so they get slippery and traction. I’m just a little worried about when we go to carpet because of the experience with the x pen but there must be outside factors at play.
They have full access to the upstairs…[Read more]

Thank you for all the background!
I would definitely stick with the bathtub if that’s working out better! It’s suprising they behaved that way in the x-pen but you never know what’s going on in those bunny brains. I’m not sure where their home-bases are located, but it could be something to do with the general smell of the area. If the x-pen…[Read more]

I have been working on bonding my two male lionheads, 1 yr and 8 months, and all went extremely well at first with them having no problems for three hours at a time in an x pen downstairs. Then I believe the younger one (Lenny) decided he wanted to be dominant and tried, but failed, to sway the older (Frankie). They fought for a few days every…[Read more]

As LBJ mentions, this is common for younger rabbits. Since their diet is much more nutrient rich, having uneaten cecotropes is rarely an issue, as they are eating the majority of them. RE: eating of regular poop, this also isn’t something too concerning. Many rabbits do this to varying degrees for different reasons. Ultimately, as long as you’re…[Read more]
