It’s good that she isn’t feeling cold -as long as she doesnt have a fever of course.
Has she eaten anything at all? Have you seen any poop?
If she isn’t spayed, its reasonable to think the blood is from her uterus. Rabbits can also get blood in the urine due to stones in the urinary tract (uroliths). A bad UTI can of course also cause blood in…[Read more]

She won’t let me touch her belly but her ears felt warm and I just tried that and all the spots foamed and I’m not sure where it’s coming from, I’m thinking it might be from her uterus or bladder. No new poops and we called around but the only emergency vets close to us only takes dogs and cats.

For the future, please keep in mind posts and replies often need to be manually approved before being publicly visibly due to online forums being frequently targeted by spammers, trolls, etc..
All rabbits do have very tiny tiny pads by each of their toes. It is hard to say whether what is pictured is abnormal for your rabbit. If you’re able to…[Read more]

Wick & Fable replied to the topic Bunny wheezing? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 4 months ago
Rabbit “allergies” are not common relative to an upper respiratory infection explanation. A rabbit being “allergic” to hay/dust/etc. is the explanation given when all other more likely diagnoses are ruled out. It’s possible your rabbit’s symptoms were simply not very intense when assessed by the vet (the difference between the first day of a cold…[Read more]

I shared your post w/ some others to poke some other brains. Some things to consider:
- While there is no traditional “ear”, there are can still other infections and injuries in that general vicinity which can lead to a rabbit tilting their head due to poor sense of balance, discomfort, compensation, etc.
- There is apparently a nerve on the side…

Hey guys! I just wanted to know if this behavior is okay/normal, or if there’s anything I can do to help out my bun. Lately, I’ve been noticing that my bunny (11 week old holland lop) tends to have sneezing fits. It first started out with a couple of sneezes, but now she will occasionally break out into these sneezing fits where she’ll sneeze…[Read more]

Still so young! But that’s good, because a younger bun is stronger.
Bonded buns do miss each other when one is sick. The only thing we can do is to try and keep the bun at home company, maybe distract with a few extra treats?

How does her belly feel? Are the insides of her ears cold?
If her belly seems distended/hard, its not advisable to try and syringe feed her, because it could be a blockage.
If the insides of her ears feel vold, you should try to warm her. You can use a warm water bottle or a microwaved sock filled with rice (heat it with a glas of water to…[Read more]

Sorry to make so many posts lately but Blossom needs healing vibes and prayers. Today I found blood in her enclosure and she’s barely eating, it took her literal hours to eat all her pellets and she’s not really touching her hay much and she’s doing more sleeping than normal today. She has a vet appointment on Monday, that’s the closest day that…[Read more]

Oh poor baby! I’m glad you took him in!
There’s very little we can do at home for a blockage. The bun needs IV- or at least sub q fluids, because food or drink via the oral route will only make matters worse. The bun will also need substantial pain relief and, often, warming up.
Fingers very much crossed for Bear.

Update on Bear
i took him to the vets yesterday and he has a blockage. He will be there all weekend.
the vet called me this morning and said that he has improved 25% which is on track. The vet said he has pooped but still not eating. They are going to try to force feed him to see if that works.
the vet is going to call me tomorrow afternoon. -

Hello All,
I have possibly the weirdest scenario a bun could have in relation to ear infections. I’ll fast forward thru the beginning, but basically my holland lop Louie had inner ear infections on both ears and so he went thru the journey of having surgery on both ears. On his left he had a TECA-BO (total ear canal ablation and bulla osteotomy)…[Read more]

Bonding un-fixed siblings is not an option — you need to separate them. If you’re living with family members, talk with them and brainstorm solutions, which can also include rehoming one or both rabbits if you are not in a position to care for them properly.
