The flannel actually covers the entire area but young bun digs everywhere; every single one is literally in tatters regardless of how thick it was. And, it’s not just edges but everywhere. I actually threw in old tshirt and they both ignore it! No digging or trying to sit on it… very strange.
I LOVE your flooring thing. Seems very plush. Your…[Read more]

If it’s just a one-time incident, she should be able to clean herself. If the fur is stained, even a butt bath isn’t going to get the stain out.

Hmm… well, he could be painful. Or he could just be a cranky old man. My bunny would bite when he wanted to be put down. He pretty much just accepted being handled though in his old age. Maybe he was just too old to fight back at that point. Haha!

I have meloxicam and gabapentin for him. Have to admit not consistent in giving it to him. He was really good about taking his meds but these days, he sometimes just refuses and I stopped forcing him to. As far as I can tell, the meds doesn’t seem to make a huge different in his behavior (he stretches quite a bit)
The vets said his arthritis is…[Read more]

There is concern with using the two together since they both slow blood clotting and can (in theory) cause bleeding problems. I would ask your vet if it’s something that would be OK short term and what the risks are.

Yes, I would definitely try the xpen route over a little cage trap. And even if they do humanely euthanize the bunny, that’s better than it suffering.

The main thing is wanting something soft that doesn’t slip around. A lot of owners will put a towel, fleece, blankets, etc. directly on top of slippery floors, so it is not helpful for traction/padding, in addition to making it an easy target for digging up and chewing. A couple options come to mind:
- A larger rug that covers a big area so it’s…

Have an senior/elder bun who needs soft flooring. However, his friend is a much younger girl who loves to dig and rip things.
My default flooring is flannel on top of something or other. The girl completely destroys it so I’ve been laying scored cardboard on top since I have tons of packing boxes. This saves the flannel a little bit and it’s…[Read more]

Welcome to Binkybunny Francis! This is an old post (from 2011), so you’re likely not going to get replies back from the OP. I recommend creating your own topic in the forum instead. I will be locking this topic since it is old.
Directly to your question for now though, a picture of his set-up would be helpful. Rabbits often pee while they’re…[Read more]

One bathroom without a changed pad should be fine.
You can do a butt bath and towel off or use hair dryer (being very careful, I keep one hand on the area I’m drying so I know how hot it gets)

Usually pens are most successful, so if you’re able to limit the area (especially if there is a broken limb), hopefully that will get you some success. When rescues I’ve worked with go out for catching a stray (domestic) rabbit, we tend to bring some xpens and use some to block off areas as well as narrow some things, though depending on the size…[Read more]

I don’t have it yet, but I’m thinking the little one like you said. That’s what I’m afraid of. I have an extra xpen.. I think it can get wet (raining here). I can try that. They didn’t tell me much about treating. I described the injury and they just said they could loan me a trap :/ Not sure if they plan to rehab or humanely euthanize honestly. I…[Read more]

Hello everyone so my rabbit Luna was using her litter box today and when I got home from work, my mom forgot to change her pee pad.’Now she has a wet bum And I was trying to use a baby wipe to clean her, but it didn’t work. She’s an indoor house rabbit so I’m scared of her getting fleas or something. Any advice?
