I think it’s very possible this was just triggered by the change in location, and the stress that goes along with it.  Have you removed the offending castle?  How many days have you had them?

A little chasing is OK at this phase, I would definitely monitor closely though. Do they share food and litter boxes without issues?

    I think continuing t…[Read more]

I agree with others, this sounds like it could def be dental pain. I would keep offering her whatever she will eat and get her checked by a vet ASAP to ensure it doesn’t turn to stasis. Definitely unlikely to be doing it for attention.

She might like some pellet mash or recovery food, so you could try offering that as well!

I too would suspect teeth. It doesnt have to be a very serious issue, some buns are sensitive. Teeth problems should be adressed swiftly though, if allowed to progress they can become very serious. A vet needs to examine he mouth with an otoscope, because its not possible to see the cheek teeth without an otoscope.

She’s not doing this for attention.

    Hi all,

I am a long-time bunny mom, but we have recently adopted our first pair. Eloise and Penelope are spayed and 1 year old; they were found together in a neighborhood, caught by the rescue, and spayed, so they have been together pre- and post-spay. Eloise apparently would chase Penelope pre-spay, but not afterward. When we brought them home,…[Read more]

That’s what I was wondering too. She has slowly finished her salad and pellets over the last few hours. What’s weird is that she will now eat as many pellets as I give her, but only if I feed them to her on the spoon that I keep in the pellet jar. If I hand them to her, or put them on the ground she won’t eat them. I’ve tried washing my hands a…[Read more]

Hmm… well, she’s still eating something so that’s good at least. Could her teeth be bothering her? Bunnies will become selective with their food when there’s a tooth problem. Usually hay is the first to go, but not always.

So this morning my rabbit didn’t eat her pellets or salad. I’m used to her not wanting her salad sometimes so that’s no big deal, but she always eats her pellets. She’s still active and playing like normal, eating some hay (but not as much) and eating some vegetables. It’s now almost 12 hours later and she’s still doing the same thing but she wil…[Read more]

Yeah, a lot of bunnies want to have a back door to their hideout.

Definitely mating ritual. He loves you so much he wants to make baby bunnies with you. 😉  I agree, you should be able to get him neutered sooner rather than later.

I guess that’s true, you can’t make a bunny do anything he doesn’t want to do; mine especially lol.. (He knows what “Come here” means but only listens when he feels like it, meanwhile will never NOT hear me when I say, “Do you want a treat?”)

This is reassuring though, because I didn’t think of it like that, him not feeling shy.. so there’s no…[Read more]

Aww, poor thing. I’m sorry she had a setback. I don’t think it’s unheard of for a tooth to grow back. If enough root cells are left behind, then there would be the possibility.

Welcome! Gucci is beautiful. It’s hard to say what breed she is. Probably a mix of some sort. Maybe some Havana in there? Are her eyes blue? If so, then her pattern is Vienna broken.

If she was bred on the 7th of May, then there are no babies. Gestation is around 31 days. Since this is a house rabbit forum, we do not discuss intentional breeding…[Read more]

It sounds like he really enjoys being free roam in your room!

As for the cat cave, I dont think you can make him want to hang out in it. But because he is a rabbit, he might one day decide that he does want to hang out in the house, and then he’ll just do that.

Some buns don’t like hidey houses that only have one “door hole”. A wild rabbit’s…[Read more]

I bought my bunny a low level cat cave some months ago, he’s never really used it as in sat or laid in it because he didn’t live in my room at that time, he would hang out in my room. When he hung out in my room he would lay down ON the cat cave, but never inside of it. He’s been living in my room free roam for three months now. (He still has…[Read more]
