He looks like a very cute mixed breed 🙂 . As for age, the only tip I’ve heard is that when rabbits age, their heels start to slide a bit farther apart due to arthritis. So an older bun’s back feet will be more parallel, and a young bun’s will have the heels turned in and toes more pointed out. Other than that is can be very hard to tell! A vet…[Read more]

I rescued this little one not to long ago and have zero clue breed or age(which I know is almost impossible to predict). Any ideas on what breed this could be? Very coarse feeling fur, black nails, medium sized. Also any tips for bonding, we now have 3 rabbits in their own bedroom but we currently have them all separated and I want to make sure I…[Read more]

As the others have stated, it could be a more serious problem lingering beneath the surface; if further scans were possible (CT or even a simple x ray) I’d personally definitely recommended – even just to rule something out.

my past frenchie got something identical to this on his chin, and we were never able to find the cause. All his bacterial s…[Read more]

Hmm… this does look like dermatitis to me as well. You said his eye was red. Does it weep or run? Constant discharge can cause the fur to mat and then eventually fall off. As Dana mentioned, it could be related to a tooth root problem… or even a tear duct problem.

Another thought could be atypical syphilis, which can begin from the moist…[Read more]

It depends on what the 2×4 is made out of. Are you talking like a framing stud?

    Poor bun bun 🙁

When the vet checked his teeth, did they take xrays? Sometimes elongated tooth roots can cause symptoms in the eye, so I’m wondering if that could be contributing?

Like the 2×4 from Lowe’s, I see so many people using pieces of 2×4 to make bunny toys is it really safe?

Hmmmm, can you consult with the rescue you adopted them from? They may be able to help.  If the chasing is preventing Penelope from eating etc then separating may be a good idea. Then I would keep doing bonding sessions in a neutral space if you can.

I dont know whst this is, but it looks like acute moist dermatitis, pyotraumatic dermatitis aka hot spots, that dogs sometimes get. I don’t find anything specific about rabbits and pyotraumatic dermatitis on the face -moist dermatitis is a condition that’s mostly described in does with a big dewlap that gets wet when the bun drinks.

    Moist…[Read more]

I was hoping someone could help me figure out what’s wrong with my bunny.

His vet is well aware of his current situation, I’ve already brought him twice and I’m going again later today.

This has been happening for at least a year now. First we noticed redness around his eyes. The vet checked his vitals, ears, teeth, everything came back norma…[Read more]

Thanks, Bam! I had a call with a very helpful vet who works at Lafeber yesterday (Jill Murray) and she also suggested that I try the Emeraid Sustain formula. I ordered it on Amazon yesterday and just gave a little to Bun a few minutes ago. Gotta love Amazon! He ate a little but wasn’t crazy about it like he is his Metacam so I mixed the Metacam in…[Read more]

I hope your bun’s leg is ok now! They can of course hurt ligaments and muscle in their legs if they take a “bad” jump -hopefully this was nothing serious!

Emeraid is recovery food and comes as a maintenance variety and an emergency variety. It’s the maintenance one that Dana has been using, with great results. It’s similar to Oxbow Critical Care,…[Read more]
