I have 2 males they are brothers from the same litter .
They will be 2 in April. When they were babies they were bonded til hormones kicked in.
they were neutered in September. They are doing great together but not quite bonded.they have their own cages because they kept my husband awake when I first got them.
They are currently living on my…[Read more]

Thank you so much, Dana! Yes, I will definitely ask the vet about tramadol next time we go. That’s a good point.
And thanks for sharing about Bun Jovi — that’s really helpful. (I think of him as Teddy’s forum brother. 😉 Thankfully Teddy is doing a lot better again, and it’s the same as you describe: enthusiastic for salad, treats, and pel…[Read more]

I’m so sorry to hear this.
It seems she was really sick. You did everything you could.

Budja’s is doing well and recovering well from her surgery, we are waiting for the biopsy and culture results should be sometime later this week. By day 2-3 she was doing mid air jumps and binkies even. They never found anything such as a splinter when they did the operation or anything foreign, so we shall see.

Thank you so much DanaNM, I really cannot thank you enough you’ve been consistently so helpful in your responses. I’m so sorry about Moose, it’s truly really difficult to treat issues like these. I’m just relieved that nature brings them to peace when they need it.

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry. 🙁
When you said her molar had broken on the extraction I was worried but was hoping for the best. A very similar the thing happened with my bun Moose. He was plagued with horrible teeth and abscesses and passed away very suddenly at less than 2 years old.
Again I’m so so sorry for your loss. You really did everything…[Read more]

Rain passed away this morning. We brought her to the vet on Monday morning to get her syringe fed and she did but she seemed much worse when she got home. The vet thinks the abscess in her neck (the one on her cheek had actually receded completely within a few days) was preventing her from breathing properly, and the more she exerted herself the…[Read more]

Yeah that’s really tough. How is his attitude? Does he seem bright and like his normal self, or more withdrawn? You know him best and have a sense of how much you want to intervene. Bun Jovi still had a great appetite for salad and treats, and eats his Emeraid with gusto, it was just the hay that he is less into, so I suspect it is arthritis. I…[Read more]

I’m in the UK so i’m not sure if they’re sold anywhere else but maybe other brands do it?
I use a cat litter tray and use a scoop to take out the litter from the bag. Most times I use about 6-8 scoops as I’ll do 3/4 litter and the rest hay but to make it last longer or help with smell, I would do the whole litter tray as mine pees in her hay som…[Read more]

Thanks so much! I did end up giving him subq fluids late at night. He stopped eating again and was loathe to lick the medicine off his plate even with the ear-massage trick, so I also gave him the rest of those by oral syringe. He was quite feisty at first, which was a good surprise! Thankfully today he’s a little better, ate all his meds wit…[Read more]

I got my first order from the binkybunny store today in the mail, and I just have some questions about some of the things I got. (sorry if this is in the wrong topic)
I got the fruit flavored balsa block trio and I was wondering if this is something I should let Pumpkin chew sparingly or can I let her chew it all at once (if she tries to) since…[Read more]

I wanted to provide an update on this since it’s been awhile.
I have some very good news, she is letting me pet her and will now come over to me for attention. It was like flipping a switch, one day she was alittle uncertain of me and the next she was all on board with the idea of getting a head scratch. I continued doing as mentioned in the…[Read more]

My boys have done this occasionally too, especially when they were younger. As long as his weight is good and he eats other food normally I wouldn’t worry too much!

It does sound like he is starting to improve and that’s great you got confirmation about the baytril! Antibiotics can take a bit of time to work and it definitely sounds like he’s a fighter and not ready to give up yet!

Thank you so much for your reply. He is doing okay in his current setup thankfully. He stays in his litterbox all the time, except when he gets brave and tries jumping out… I got him a larger litter box since he is spending so much time in it and then he has a bit of space to separate from where I put his food. Then I put the box inside th…[Read more]
