It can be hard to tell sometimes with rabbits. You can act like you’re going to stick your finger in their eye and they don’t flinch. Does he bump into things or seem lost at times? One thing I noticed with my bunny who had cataracts is he would think my shadow was me sometimes.

Sorry for the delayed response. I checked, and it doesn’t seem like cataracts. His eye has gone back to normal, with no squinting. He doesn’t seem to react when I wave a stick around that specific eye, but he will with the other eye. I’ve tested it a few times with similar results. Would that be a signaler that he may be visually impaired or blind…[Read more]

I’ve been sitting with my back against the nightstand (there’s not enough room for me to dit with my back against the wall) and I’ll sit all 3 ways; legs crossed, stretched out and on my knees.

Those sound great and I’m not confident that I could since I’ve been watching TV while hanging put with them and that can be distracting however they’ve been leaving their fleece blankets alone lately but I just didn’t want to risk it.

You could try sitting on either a yoga block, a rolled up blanket/towel, or they sell special bolster meant for meditation. Adding something under your bum makes it a lot more comfortable to sit cross legged for longer. If you are sitting right htere with them I think you would be able to prevent chewing?

Hello all,
Firstly, apologies if I have put this in the wrong section – it regards topics which fit multiple of the forums so I thought this seemed like the most general one?

I have two male rabbits, Patch (a rex rabbit) and Binky (a lop), both of whom are about 7 months…[Read more] -

When I first got Blossom and Thumper they were on a table so our dogs couldn’t get to them but it stressed them (my buns I mean) out a lot and my bond with them wasn’t as good as it is now, they’re so much happier in their x-pens and when we had our dogs (I say had because they passed away) I got a babygate to keep them away.

Bam replied to the topic Bumble foot or sore hocks? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 9 months ago
I think they mean sore hocks (pododermatitis). Bumble foot is a word used for pododermatitis in chickens. Maybe the tv-people thought people are more familiar with chickens so the audience can relate more to the word bumblefoot?
Rabbits are somewhat prone to pododermatitis, esp rex rabbits. Its because rabbit feet don’t have any padding except…[Read more]

I was watching Dr. K’s Exotic Animal ER earlier and the bottom information said that bumble foot is common in rabbits. I went to see what the difference is but the blogs I read interchanged bumble foot and sore hocks. Are they the same?

I will keep spot cleaning then. I can’t hang the blankets outside due to our neighbors burning things even in 80F weather.

VJSFunHonBun started the topic Clear Odorless Liquid Coming from 8 Year Old Healthy Buck in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 9 months ago
I hope someone can help because I’m worried about my baby. His name is Regal (because he rules the house lol), and lately he had two incidents where clear, orderless liquid came from his bottom, that he left on the couch, and 2 days later on the rug. He is a free roam rabbit and litter box trained. He’s very well trained when it comes to using his…[Read more]

How are you sitting? If the floor is hard, I usually lean against a wall and have my legs out, rather than trying to cross my legs or sit on my knees.

I don’t know if this is the right topic place for this or not, I think it is but I’ve been wrong before. Anyway I’ve been trying to sit on the floor in front of Thumper and Blossom’s x-pens but I can’t sit with them for long due to the hard lament flooring hurting my back and legs so my question is does anyone have any tips or have suggestions on…[Read more]

I agree that it could just be gas. Unless, of course, she has symptoms consistent with Wick’s link. Were you able to get your bunny to a vet? How is she now?
