It’s important to remember that he is extremely hormonal and WILL mark. It is simply biology. Jellybean marked on everything before he was neutered – I invested in waterproof blankets to put on couch/bed/anything I didn’t want soaked in pee. He began spraying pee right before getting neutered – I was sprayed in the face before lol. this may sta…[Read more]

the.beanie.bunnies started the topic Carpet Digging …or Eating?? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 7 months ago
Hi there! First post here. Jellybean and I are temporarily living in a carpeted space. It’s his first time and though he loves it for zoomies and binks, it seems to have unlocked a digging habit.
I’ve been finding patches of carpet that has been ripped out. The fibers lay there, seemingly uneaten. I’ve also observed him doing it, and he seems…[Read more]

LBJ10 replied to the topic Where to buy Stronghold/Revolution? in the forum HOUSE RABBIT Q & A 1 year, 7 months ago
I believe it is OTC in Canada as well, but don’t quote me on that. I used Revolution on my Vienna marked bunny and never had any concerns. I would think we would have heard at least anecdotal reports online, as Bam said.
What happened to that dosage chart?

Yes, Revolution is OTC in Australia. It’s the only country I know of where Revolution is OTC.
For rabbits under 2.3 kilos you should use a vial of kitten Revolution. (Kitten Revolution). Repeat treatment is as a rule needed after 1-2 weeks, to get the parasites that were in life stages insensitive to Revolution when the Revolution was first…[Read more]

So like I said selamectin/revolution/stronghold is simply not available in my country and a vet prescription is not accepted by the websites. They only accept their own vets prescriptions not some foreign vets. I think I can get it from Australia without a prescription actually so I’m trying to get a friend to get it. I just need to know the c…[Read more]

I agree, you will need your vet to write a prescription.

Have you considered trying a different brand pellet and/or hay? When I first brought my bunny home, I picked up some pellets from the store (didn’t know what he was previously on). He did not like them! I tried different ones and he loves them.

Would it work to order from Amazon? What about just telling the vet you want to use selamectin instead of ivermectin and asking them to write you a prescription? They may not be rabbit savvy, but a quick Google search would show them that Revolution is safe for rabbits.

I usually had to give a day notice to the vet when requesting a refill. I am happy to hear the vet was able to clean things up. Hopefully it will heal up OK.

When it comes to med refills/questions, I always recommend giving the vet a call ahead of time clarify, in case they weren’t aware you didn’t walk away with another supply (you wouldn’t want a gap day or two as they fill it!)

Thank you so much i will try that! Hopefully so he can atleast let the cream do its job for a bit. I’m really hoping it will heal until he wants to see him again in 2weeks. Yes, i have been giving some pain meds from his dental visit the first time when i noticed he had this problem but it is running low and i did tell the vet but he never gave me…[Read more]

I’m glad you got him seen and the cysts cleaned out. If you got oral antibiotics for him, the foot might heal even without the silver sulfadine cream. Bandaging is always a problem with buns, they tend to remove any kind of bandage we try to put on. You can make an E-collar from a paper saucer and electrical tape and keep it on for an hour or two…[Read more]
