Hi everyone
So bunny is not nterested whatsoever in any of the wooden toys we have bought for him (nor in any of the furniture that is made out of wood fortunately!). Thing is that he goes boinkers for anything that is made out plastic/rubber – my yoga mats, the handles of his brushes, any phone cover he can get hold to, my pressure pont ball -…[Read more]

Had 2 different kinds of woodpeckers (downy and red-bellied), some doves, and some finches today. This was after I chased 2 squirrels away. I don’t mind feeding the squirrels, but the hog the feeder so no birds can visit.
Dana – I can’t imagine a sporting breed dog. The ones I have known were over-the-top rambunctious, but I don’t think they were…[Read more]

That method looks good, I’ll definitely give it a try! I do have my dad to help me as well, so I’ll probably have to recruit him no matter which technique I choose. Thank you!

I do the same – Bun in my lap sitting on his rump and back against my stomach.

Rabbits can develop calluses on their heels. The callus can become red and irritated, which is the early stages of a sore hock but it isn’t quite there yet. Wick provided a good photo and advice on ways to help it heal.

I agree with JG. You may find someone with more experience to give advice at rabbitsonline. I do urge you to seek advice from your vet though. You wouldn’t want a “small” problem to develop into a “big” problem.

There are a few ideas on how to train a bun to let you trim their nails without restraint. It’s definitely harder to do the back feet though.
I thought this method looked really cool:
Do you have anyone who can help you? I usually hold my…[Read more]

Hi y’all! I’ll make this short and sweet, are there any ways for me to trim my feisty bunny’s nails without stressing him out?
more info: it doesn’t matter what position I hold him in, he just won’t let me touch his feet. I used to be able to trim his front paws, but he’s never ever let me trim his back feet, and I just know those long nails are…[Read more]

I can’t be positive since there is no picture, but it sounds like pretty early stages of sore hocks. Does it look similar to this photo? :

… If so, it is early stages. The picture is actually one of my rabbit’s, who I am currently going through measures to ensure the hocks do not continue to deteriorate. If the blister is open or bleeding,…[Read more]

<p class=”_1qeIAgB0cPwnLhDF9XSiJM”>Okay, so long story short: My rabbit sprained his right leg, and I’ve been doing what I can to take care of it. He’s been balancing his weight on his left leg, and I think it’s causing him to get a sore hock. Our vet doesn’t have any openings for the ‘foreseeable future’, ie: months out, (and it’s already been…[Read more]

HoppyGirl2 replied to the topic Tips on free roaming in bedroom? in the forum HABITATS AND TOYS 5 years, 9 months ago
I recently moved my bunnies into a different room. What I did to block off some areas I didn’t want them reaching, such as, under beds, I just taped some cardboard onto, and they’ve been leaving it alone. To make the room feel a bit more livable too, I bought some carpet to cover the floors, since mine are slippery.

Hi again!
I wanted to update you on our progress. I moved them out of the room they were in before and into a new one. In this new one I was aware in advance of the bunny proofing that needed to be done, so it is much more bunny friendly. Plus, they are all bonded now, making the switch much easier. They are mostly free-roam now, although I do…[Read more]
