I agree that the lunges and grunts are OK as long as they aren’t escalating! I bet they will get better without the boxes though. ๐
As long as neither bun gets overly excited about food, food sharing can also be a nice activity during bonding. I usually scatter greens, pellets, or cheerios to give them something to do besides worry about each…[Read more]

I think he sounds like a great match! Those sounds like very positive signs through the fence.
It would be awesome if you started another thread about the process with him if you’d like to (just so it’s easier to follow, this thread is wild at this point LOL).
I’ve pretty much done the full range of methods (super slow vs. 24/7 from the get-go).…[Read more]

oh no, itโs not the cause, totally separate issues but they have similar symptoms. Sheโs doing well on the fluids and responds well to medication, positive vibes for her. Thank you so much, youโve made me feel much better ๐

Kidneys cannot regenerate/repair damage. However, when you treat for EC, it’s possible to see some improvement in kidney function (if the EC is targeting the kidneys). I’m not positive, but it could be due to inflammation. So when the inflammation subsides due to treatment, the kidneys are able to regain some function even if they are…[Read more]

Yes, thereโs minor improvements in her kidney values after treatment but itโs never within the normal range. The treatment seems to just stop the drastic decline. Her vet said the kidney damage canโt be reversed, only slowed down with the fluids? Do you have a different opinion?
She also has porphyria which her vet believes contributes to the k… -

Do her kidney values improve after EC treatment? If this is chronic kidney disease caused by EC, then you could see improvement. Unfortunately, frequent EC flares won’t make that easy.
And yes, dental abscesses can be very worrisome. Some people have seen success with antibiotic treatment if all of it cannot be removed surgically. Injections are…[Read more]

Hello from Canada!

Gimli has been home with us for about 5 days and he is so friendly and sociable I…[Read more]
