Lol! Yeah, it’s almost impressive how much fur they can shed and not be bald. :p Napoloeon is that way about his butt tufts. He is a Dwarf lionhead, but I swear he looks much bigger because he always has an extra fluffy butt. I can sometimes pluck them, but usually once he figures out…
-
You could, but it won’t last long. Haha! Yeah, I mostly have to resort to holding him with the Love Gloves on and just force him to be petted/groomed. Otherwise he doesn’t sit still for any of it. To be honest, I don’t think it matters what it is. Everything seems to pull his fur…

What did you do in that situation? I have to take Gustavo to the vet for a “sani shave” regularly, should I ask them to give him a good brush down at the same appointment if none of the other grooming methods work?
-
Yes, he lets me pluck tufts by hand for the most part – as long as he is getting those head pats while I do it! I joke that his butt is like another world wonder because of how badly he sheds there, plucking tufts is just not getting the job done. I will try…
-
I feel your pain. Brush – nope. Lint roller – nope. Love Glove – Oh hell no. Plucking – Only if I sneak it and then I only get a single tuft.

Some buns with tolerate a lint roller. If his fur is shedding, this usually works pretty well because it won’t stick to the “attached” fur. I have had buns it worked like a charm for, others hated it more than being brushed. My one poor bun, Cinnabon, was not a good candidate for lint rollers,…

Hi all, I recently made the goal to begin brushing Gus after realizing he was starting to get a mini mat on his back. He has never had mats anywhere outside of the groin, which we go to the vet for, so I had figured brushing wasn’t necessary. Seeing the mat made me realize it…

Yep, that’s the one for the Meridian clippers. This is the Wahl one I used (or similar – I had gotten it from a local farm supply store, but this one seems to be the same): https://a.co/d/3nYTJZr

Keep checking her food/water intake and poo/pee. I usually clean (bedding, litter, soft toys) right away and give myself and bun around a year to grieve. For my buns, they may be a bit off afterwards but usually return to normal behavior within a couple days but during the year, most buns personality change…

Hello! I’m sorry to hear of your loss. 🙁 I’m sure its hard on both you and Penelope bun. I have had similar experiences when a close bonded bun loses its mate. Most of the symptoms were loss of appetite, not super active, and in one case, the bun just shut down – he didn’t…

My rabbit Penelope just lost her bonded partner of 9 years (she’s 10 and he was 13 years old). She went with us to the vet and spent time with his body, but she’s very lonely. I plan to bond her again soon to help her move on from her grief. Since his passing,…

Yeah, the small clippers like the manscaping ones are great because they are easy to use and are lightweight. But the downside is they aren’t as powerful for cutting.

Buns are bonding right now so with the slight roughhousing, everyday he gets new mats 😆 Between my child sized hands and bun being <2.5 lbs, I was hoping for something smaller and lighter. Was looking at the mini version of that clipper https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Professional-Animal-MiniArco-8787-450A/dp/B000634JDU/ but then realized, the description says it’s for light trimming only.

I have also had some luck with “manscaping” clippers. I have one from Meridian that worked really well for my old bunny, Churro. He was a Fuzzy Lop and his fur tangled if you looked at wrong lol. I found the clippers on Amazon. I have also had some luck with a small pair of…

Unfortunately, the little monster has thick fur, especially around his butt https://imgur.com/a/mooncake-W6ojMWV I just adopted a relative of his but in her “original form” pictures, I think I may be able to get away with not trimming her but right now, well, the shelter trimmed her and she looks like a Netherland Dwarf instead…

Thanks LBJ10. Figure it may take a bit, but you’re right we will get back there! She’s not a people bun like Dorian, but she had decided I was part of the gang. I am hoping she let’s me back in to the cool rabbit club soon!

Hi Mia! I would recommend the kind that are for “manscaping”. They are small, quiet, and easy to manage. I would use my husband’s old clippers. I think they were Wahl. The only downside is they aren’t meant for thick hair. Definitely only for trimming wispy bunny fur.

Looking for recommendations for clippers, in particular, smaller sized ones as I find normal ones unwieldy. Bun in need is a lionhead with thick long fur. After a year of trimming my little monster’s fur (1x/month), I’d like to try exploring clippers. Despite trying to sharpen the grooming shears, which did work very well…
