        Hi,

I was petting my 6-month bunny and noticed she has a little bruise next to her neck. I always cuddle with her so it must have happened today but I don’t understand how she did that. What can I do to treat that? Do I need to go to the vet?

How is your bun doing now?

I’m not sure if I interpret the picture correctly, but it looks like there is a sore, not just a bruise? Does she live with any other rabbits? If so, they could perhaps have had a fight.

If the sore is shallow and the bun seems unbothered (eats drinks poops pees, normal activity level etc), you just have to keep the wound clean and look at it daily for signs of infection.

              Hi,

Yes, turned out that my new bunny bites her… She acts completely normal so I’m making sure she’s okay as you said. Thanks for the reply!

Rabbits who live together have to go through the bonding process to make sure they will get a long. Unbonded rabbits shouldn’t be together at all in most cases as there is often fighting. If you are unfamiliar with the bonding process, you can read about it here: https://binkybunny.com/infocategory/bonding/

Thank you! Since my new bunny arrives we try to bond them but they live separately.
