Hello, does your rabbit moult before winter? In this time of the year? 🤔 My bunny sheds A LOT right now.

She sheds like most time of the year. Sometimes a lot less and sometimes it’s this much. I thought she wouldnt be shedding before winter tho. Is it normal?

Bunnies are different and they have different fur types. Some bunnies will shed all of their fur at once 2 or 3 times a year. Others just shed fur here and there all the time (365 day a year). Both patterns are completely normal and most bunnies don’t really follow seasons since they live inside.

My buns are all molting right now and it just got cold! So I think they can all be on sort of different timings.

I cannot imagine lint-rolling to try and get enough fur off during a molt… observe the Fall molt:

Haha! Wick is a perfect example of a bunny that loses it all at once!

I too want to make sure the amount of molt that is going on over here is normal. We’ve had our bun for a year this coming 1st week of January. When we adopted him he was barely losing any hair that time of year, but just this week (almost one year later) he is molting like CRAZY. The biggest shed we’ve had with him all year…to the point where it looks like there’s a big wig in my garbage bin after brushing haha! In terms of temperature, it is just starting to get cold in my area of the world, hovering about 0 C/32 F sometimes colder, sometimes warmer. Does this sound right??
