So, the good news didn’t last long. Ernesto is sneezing and with nose discharge again. His symptoms disappeared for maybe 5 days but they are now back with a vengeance. He had a sneezing fit of maybe 20 non stop sneezes. I have already talked to the vet. He said we should continue with azithromycin until the 15 days have passed. I will probably see him on Sat. I have surgery tomorrow, so I can’t make it sooner. He is anyway eating, pooping and binkying his head off, so that is reassuring.

So flustered we are back on square one…

Going 5 days without symptoms is a great sign. Recovery is rarely a clean, straight trajectory. If you notice things getting progressively worse, then I’d be more concern.

Has he sneezed since? Perhaps a big glob of stuff came loose and he was getting it out.

<p style=”text-align: right;”>Hope it is just temporary. I’ll keep you updated. It just seems that the azithromycin is not working any more…</p>

No, but he is kind of honking, because of the congestion. I am still nebulizing him twice a day. Such a downer…

Hmm… I wonder if the antibiotic killed a bunch of bacteria off and all the build up decided to come out. Maybe more is loosened, but still in there. The nebulizer should help with that as well.
