Hello!
I am really new to this forum but I’m happy I’ve found other rabbit lovers and people who are passionate about their well-being!
I have a new zealand red doe called Nasu and last friday we went on rabbit dating and found a young handsome flemish giant mix Bertus to be her new companion since the last one passed away. He’s a active boy with good appetite and drinks well.
Yesterday I noticed he had a small lump on his stomach and got a time for my rabbit savvy vet that I’ve heard good things about. She said she thinks it’s hernia but it’s small enough to not operate on it. She said it’s just the fat pushing through the gap on the tummy but it’s nothing to worry about.
Does anyone have any experience on living with hernia? I’ve never heard of it and apparently it’s not as common on rabbits as it is on cats and dogs. Does it affect them any way negatively? Any advice is appreciated!
