        Fur lost from foot

My 1 month old bunny jus lost fur on the foot. Could somebody advise why this happened.

Also his bedding was changed recently to wood shavings but i beleive it is getting damped easily. Before this he had soft bedding which would soak alot. Do u think can this be a reason.

Hes kept in a cage in night while sleeping only and rest time he plays in pen.

        Thank you for your suggestions.

What kind of wood shavings did you switch to?

Does he pick at this area much? I wonder if there is something irritating there that’s causing him to overgroom or pluck the fur, or if there is something like ringworm causing fur loss.

I suggest a vet visit to get a skin scraping and see what’s going on.

The normal wood shavings, however it looks like he doesent like it so will change to earlier and will definitely take him to vet.

If pine or cedar, that could definitely be the culprit.

Try pine pellets or crumbled paper litter, both work really well.

Yes, if it’s on the top of the foot then it was either overgrooming or something (like a fungal infection) causing the fur to fall out. Does the skin look flaky or irritated?

So took him to vet n he said infection due to urine bcz his bedding is wet and not soaking enough. Gave him two injections and a biodine to apply on his foot skin once a day. Lets hope he recovers soon and will never use any wood shavibgs from now on.
