Hiya! My name is Hannah, and despite just now joining this forum, I have been reading many posts around here since the end of July this year. I’m new to the rabbit community, I got sweet baby Teddy at the end of July and I couldn’t be happier. I saved Teddy from a reptile store, him and his four siblings and mom were left there and had until the end of the day to be sold or they would be fed to the snakes. My friend ended up buying all of them, and I got Teddy from her. For the past year or so I have dabbled with the idea of getting an Emotional Support Animal, and Teddy just kind of fell into my lap at the right time, he has made my outlook on life so much better.
Teddy is just about 4 months old, and he’s been with me for three of those months. Unfortunately he isn’t neutered yet, one of the very few *exotic* vets in my area examined him and said it would be best to wait until he is six months for the operation. When I first got little Ted Ted, he was super mellow and relaxed. He was calm when I held him, and gentle. Now, however, he’s so comfortable that he knows he can be a little rambunctious, curious, and a little troublemaker and get away with it all. He’s smart, too, he reels me back in when I’m going nuts about how much of a troublemaker he is by stretching out on the floor and letting me pet him for a while.

Welcome to the forum! Teddy is absolutely adorable, and also a total teenager
I hope he’ll continue to behave somewhat well until his neuter, sometimes puberty hits bunnies hard and they can get into all sorts of trouble. It can be quite a shock for a first-time owner to see that their cute and cuddly fluffball is suddenly bouncing around raging with hormones. (Actually, that’s the reason why a lot of rabbits are dumped right after the first 3 months of cuteness.) Don’t worry, these hormones will die down after 6 weeks after the neuter. He may be quite energetic for the first 2 years, but that’s normal young rabbit behaviour. Afterwards they’ll mellow a bit and get more cuddly again. Give Teddy lots of toys to destroy safely, so he can spend his energy on those.
