Greetings and happy new year to you all. It is so lovely to join this site.

Although, not a first time rabbit owner (I had a rabbit in my childhood) I often find myself coming on here looking for tips and answers after I got Mochi. Unfortunately when I was little education about rabbit ownership was sparse (pre-internet days) and I think this site is absolutely fab and I thought it was finally time to join the community.

Mochi is now 4 months old and he is a smoke pearl Netherland Dwarf. Well at least that was what he was sold as. When we got him (at 2 months old) he was very well litter trained and socialised. This made our lives a lot easier.

However, as he is getting older, I am starting to question his lineage. My childhood rabbit was also a Netherland Dwarf and I remember him being a lot smaller, with a rounder face and shorter ears. He had the standard Nethie look. Mochi on the other hand, definitely has longer ears and a longer snout. I love Mochi to bits for who he is, but also wanted to know what are your thoughts on his lineage?

I am familiar with the whole “false” dwarf thing, and perhaps that is simply what he is. But if anyone can see any hints of another breed in there, it would be interesting to know your thoughts.
