Hey!
I’m very new to this.. So apologies if this is posted in the wrong spot/for the huge essay… But I really needed some advice.
My gorgeous rabbit, Harley Quin, is acting very peculiar.. I first noticed when she drinks, the water was dribbling down her face. So I took her to the vet, on Friday, thinking it was an abscess. Her teeth are perfect, but she has lost about 700g in two months, I’m not sure if it happened quickly, or if it happened slowly. Now, she does have a boyfriend, Wintson, who eats EVERYTHING (I mean he will hop onto my plate and steal my food, very cute, but very naughty.. I let him at least take my spinach :p). So I’m not quite sure if he is just eating all her food before she can get to it, or if she is really sick. The vet said give it a week, feed her separately and feed her food with higher calories.
Three days have passed and Harley is being REALLY picky with her food. She used to love bok choy and now won’t have a bar of it.. She used to hate spinach and now won’t stop eating it. She won’t touch grass or hay as much and she is drinking plenty of water (maybe too much?.. but it has been really hot lately too). She has been really lethargic, but as soon as I go into the kitchen, she bolts over and begs for more food?
I’m really quite confused. One minute she is her usual bulging self and then the next she’s hiding in the corner? Could she just be really weak from losing so much weight? I was supposed to take her back to the vet this Friday, but I ended up changing it to Wednesday because she is making me too anxious.
She is spayed, has had her vaccinations and is a house bunny. She never goes outside, she is also pooping and urinating normally too.
Thank you!
