So I’d like to give our buns a home exam whilst we clip toes. I usually give them a quick once over anyways, but is there a certain way to do this? Thanks!

If you click on BUNNY INFO at the top of the page, then choose the Monthly Maintenance link, that might be helpful.

I hope you’re not going to clip their toes!!!!

That link is a good one, I just tend to make sure that I feel along every part of their body, including their belly and under their throat if I can get to it. I check both eyes, though I do that every day now due to my myxo paranoia. Teeth I don’t check terribly often, more opportunistically when they’re yawning or similar. And I like to feel along their hocks and try to get a look while I have the foot for clipping. I also weigh them weekly, but that’s just me. I never used to weigh Bandit because I didn’t have a scale, but I like knowing now how my buns are progressing week to week.

It took me a while, but when I had Bandit, I got him accustomed to me touching his feet while he was sprawled out, so I could check his hocks easily. I found that if I pet down his back and continued the stroke along his leg to his foot without breaking contact he was ok with it, but just touching his foot without doing that would make him withdraw it.

With your guys BM, I’d jot down some notes also. So you can check against those for when you do another check. I know with my rabbits some bumps are normal for them. You probably have a bit of an idea with this just from petting your rabbits.
