Hi everyone! I’m new to the world of rabbits, and haven’t used a forum in what seems like decades… Hopefully I do it right
I was looking around for cool ideas for my bun’s cage, which lead me to the forum section of Binky Bunny. I thought it would be nice to join a community of rabbit owners, since they can be a bit rare (although I realize when I mention my rabbit at work, a lot of people have had one at some point in their lives!)
Anyway, here we go…
About Him…
- Rabbit name: Baxter
- Rabbit Age: 10 months
- How long has your bunny been with you? 1 month
- Spayed/Neutered? Not yet! Here’s the story: I adopted Baxter from a local pet supply store under the impression that he was a female named Ruby. She was so sweet, licked my hand nonstop, so I fell in love… It was a bit of a hasty decision, considering I’d never even thought of getting a rabbit before… so I had no idea to even look to check his gender. Got home… saw his junk. He tried to mount me the first few days… we have since established a more mother-son relationship Long story short – he has an appointment in 2 weeks for neutering.
- Rabbit Personality Traits: So sweet and smart. He loves training (he’s learning to stand, spin, and go through a tunnel on command), and he prefers toys like his Teach n Treat or closed baskets with food inside. He likes to sit next to me for constant pets, and chases the cat around.
About Me…
- Are you new to rabbits or have you been a bunny slave for a long while now? Brand new! Completely freaked out and overwhelmed at first, but now I’m loving it!
- What made you choose to have a rabbit companion in your life? Honestly, around the time I had adopted him (just a month ago), I had been feeling like I had so much more love to give than I was already giving to my boyfriend and cat. Giving this sweet little guy a home felt important. I felt like it would be silly NOT to adopt him.
- Anything else that you’d like to share – hobbies, interests, talents. My hobby is taking care of Baxter and my Maine Coon, Nala. We live in a 1-bedroom apartment, and I’m constantly getting into some sort of project (usually related to rearranging or cleaning). I love podcasts, audiobooks, and craft fairs.
