Hi everyone, I’m new here! Adopted my 5 month old rabbit Quozl on Sunday, and introducing slowly her to being a house rabbit after being kept half-in-half-out with her previous owners. She’s a black Lionhead crossed Dwarf Lop, and is very chilled out and friendly… though yesterday and today she’s started to show a mischievous side to her character!
I decided to get a rabbit because I adore animals, always have, I prefer their company to humans every time! But I’m also physically disabled with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome so I’m stuck at home a lot, unable to go out and sometimes the pain leaves me to unmotivated to even get out of bed…
Quozl has already been putting the smile back on my face every day, and giving me a reason to get out of bed on the hard days. I have plenty of time and attention to give her at home… she’s already got a home made treehouse (about a foot tall and cardboard, not actually in a tree!!) and cardboard castle and we’ve so far worked up to 4 hours of one-on-one play a day! My partner also lives two minutes down the road on an organic vegetable farm… so in 2 weeks when her immune system has adapted from her vaccinations we’ll be taking our first trip to the farm’s meadow and orchard. She is already loving her supply of organic greens from the farm, so looking forward to introducing her to all that lush green organic grass…
I have a few questions regarding her already, but I’ll post them elsewhere when I find the appropriate topic – one about spaying, one about spraying, one about making bunny friends, one about toys, one about nail trimming, one about beds…!
I can’t figure out how to include pictures in this post… some tips on that would be great to!
Thanks for reading, we look forward to getting to know you all
Yasmin
