  Hi all, I’m Anna, the human belonging to little miss Pepper.
  
  I got her last year when she was 7 weeks old, and originally named her Cocoa. But after a day or so of seeing how many pellets she was producing, and thinking they look like peppercorns, she was renamed Pepper!
  
  She is my first bun and I was in love from day one. It has been fun and interesting learning about her and bonding with her!
  
  Pepper is ridiculously affectionate, and I can’t pat her for 2 seconds without her licking me constantly. Lick lick lick! All day every day!
  
  Anyway, she has recently turned one and is about due for her second year vaccination for calicivirus, which I’m not looking forward to since last year it paralysed one of her paws for a few days. Scared the hell out of me. Luckily she came good though.
  
  Anyway, I’ve got a few things I need to ask questions about so I guess I’ll head into the right parts of the forums to do that!

  She looks like a sweet little bun and sounds like one also!
  I’m sorry to hear she had reaction to her calici shot last year. Mine have only had a bit of a skin reaction but I have heard of the leg paralysis before.
  I always massage the skin for a few minutes straight after the shot and I think that helps. Certainly doesn’t hurt and they enjoy a little massage too.

  Welcome! Pepper is precious! I’m sorry to hear about the raction to the vaccine. Do your vet still think it’s safe for her to get it?

  Yes I think it is still safe for her to have the vaccine, perhaps they didn’t massage the area enough last time so that it didn’t disperse enough. I will pay closer attention this time when the vet does it, now that I know what’s meant to happen.
