Girls are usually pretty sore and tired after their spay. Sometimes they are unwilling to eat. My girl had a pretty rough time, she was really sore for a few days. But my little Bridge Bunny made out much better when I had her spayed. It really depends on the bunny. Some are willing to eat but some need to be force fed for a couple of days. It is a pretty major surgery so you have to expect them to be sore, sleepy and grumpy.
I did not notice any behavioral changes with my spayed girls. Velvet I had done as a baby and the only change was she stopped humping everything,
Olivia was already an adult, over age 1, and I noticed zero change with her. She’s still mega territorial and aggressive so I’ve never been able to bond my two. But I think she’s a bit of a drama queen, honestly….And the fact that she was already an adult may be the reason for the lack of positive spay changes.
Most people worry that their bun’s personalities will change. But, from my knowledge, most of the time, it only changes some hormonal bad habits.
The most important thing to remember is that spaying is the best choice for your buns chance at a long, healthy life.
