Hello, all! I adopted Demeter on February 6th from not-so-happy, neglectful conditions (Craigslist). Took her to the vet and other than some superficial damage, she is a sweet and healthy bunny. Since I got her, I’ve come here daily to do research or understand her a little better. For example, a few nights ago, we had a pretty violent squall in Boston, and we were pretty freaked out. I brought her to a safer part of the house, away from trees and windows, but picked her up despite her not wanting me to. Binkybunny forums helped me immensely with the emotional aftermath of being punished for 48 hours.
I think it’s time we became part of the community, instead of just readers!
Rabbit Info:
- Rabbit name: Demeter
- Rabbit Age: Previous owners did not say, vet can’t establish.
- How long your bunny has been with you: 3 weeks.
- Spayed/Neutered: Not yet, need to talk to a different vet who specializes in exotics.
- Rabbit Personality Traits: Curious, Active, surprisingly non-neurotic, great in the car, a total princess.
- Photos: I included one, but black bunnies are so hard to take pictures of, even with flash. Plus she moves from her cute positions right as the camera app opens, every time.
- New to rabbits or long-time bunny slave: Not new, but have never met such a straight-shooting and unique bunny.
- What made you choose to have a rabbit companion in your life: My fiancé is abroad for 6 months, so we decided to give her a home for my benefit. Someday, we’ll get dogs and horses, but we suspect our bunny would like to be an only pet.
- Hobbies & Interests: Human health, physical and certain social sciences, running, DIYing everything, cooking for a crowd.
We thank you for being able to read your invaluable experiences!
xoxo, Demeter & Her Humans
