Hi, PB&J,
Glad to hear the issues with your Member name has finally been settled. For those who are confused, there was an overlap of names that BB had to fix, so our nice new members finally settled on the very cute name of PB&J! Great choice, btw.
Here on BB we are concerned about the safety of online interactions for our members, so we don’t give out members’ real names, addresses or locations.
That said, many of us have become friends, either in person or online. (I boast of bunny buddies in Alaska and Australia, as well as the rest of the alphabet.)
I’ve lived in Boston, and moved a lot with my bunnies, so I understand where you’re coming from. What I’d suggest is trying one of several options:
* Go with BB’s suggestion of starting a separate Meetup on Meetup dot com, calling all bunny owners. (Most risk of stranger danger)
* Get to know some of us here on BB, and ask anyone who lives in your area to PM you (Personal Message – you have an Inbox here you know) to get to know each other and make plans if you want to privately, or
* Go to a local shelter that rescues bunnies and do a bit of volunteer work there to get to know other animal lovers.
My third suggestion is based on my recent experience of going to a shelter here in FL where a couple worked with me to pick out Spike. They volunteered there, and now are at a different shelter closer to their home. I know this because they ran into me in a fresh market when we were all shopping for our greens! We had a nice chat, caught up on my bunny’s progress, and plan to see each other again in May at a local BunFest! So it was nice.
And, if I were in Boston, I would meet my humans at TGIF on Newbury St. for lunch. The bunnies won’t want to meet each other particularly, but a lunch full of bunny talk in a public restaurant (TGIF started in that location I believe) is fun for you, and fun for the bored diners at the next table who eavesdrop.
Hope these suggestions help. We’re glad you’re here online with us, no matter what.
