Hi I am new to the forum, I have visited this site a lot for advice and thought it would be good to join!
I have a 4 month old bun called Blue, he is a mixed breed (half lop, half netherland dwarf) and I am madly in love with him. He has been in my life for about a month now and we have an excellent bond already.
I had rabbits growing up but this is the first time I have had a house rabbit free range and the difference is huge. My home is just as much (if not more!) his as it is mine and that means I get to see every part of his personality. He is extremely confident and loves playing, strokes, grooming / licking me, paper balls, carrots, lying in front of the fire and strangely – my hamster..
I actually adopted Blue with another bunny called Bailey, both the same age and litter as I thought a pair would be better. However the boys got into vicious fights resulting in cuts and injuries and very unhappy buns. Unfortunately after getting professional advice, temporary separation, and attempted to reintroduce the decision was made for Bailey to be rehomed as it was going to cause stress and harm to them and it just was not a good match. It was very upsetting but in the long run a wise call.
Since Blue has been alone he has become much happier and out going, he has instantly took to litter training and in general it has worked out for the best.
I do think about potentially having another in the future but for now I think the attention and love he gets is working out great.
I am unsure how to attach a picture on a post at this point but I shall look into it and update! He is grey but delightfully has a cream and white belly and a white sock paw!
