First off, rabbits don’t like to be held. They are prey animals and think they are going to be eaten when held So it’s best to always lay on the ground with them, where they are.

Have you looked into airlines that allow rabbits? I know of many rabbits that fly on airlines with their humans if needed.

It’s very common for rabbits to dislike being held. As for not wanting to come out, there could be multiple reasons. They may be nervous, maybe the times you open the cage, it’s their nap time. It’s something you could definitely figure out and work on. When trying to make friends with Ava, I left her door open, sat on the floor with a treat and waited for her to come to me. If you’re worried about their friendliness, that’s something you can work on by taking it slow and spending time with them. Are there perhaps alternatives you can find when it comes to the Florida trip; plan on how to take them with you, find someone to foster them, have a friend or relative come by the house everyday, etc.

If you really are set on rehoming them, then first I’d suggest contacting that lady to see if she was still interested and make sure she has a good situation for the bunnies. I think you should think about it for a while, what’s that one big reason you want to rehome them; is it their behavior, the trip, etc. Their behavior can be worked on, you can bond with them if you haven’t already. I don’t want to sound harsh, but I think you need to pinpoint the reason you want to rehome them. If you really want to keep them, I think you should try to find a way.
