Hi, my newest bunny baby is Shadow, a blue New Zealand x American Blue lop- the only lop in his litter. He was supposed to be a “she” when my boyfriend adopted “her” for me as a Christmas surprise. He has a younger “twin” brother, Granite, a blue Weimaraner. Shadow is not my first bun; I’ve had several, but my best bunny ever is over the Rainbow Bridge-his name was Grayson, or “Gray Bunny” as he was called. (He was a Cinnamon as best we could tell…) I’ve gotten to experience a “surprise” litter (Grayson was supposed to have been neutered-surprise!!!!) He and our Lovey Bunny (rescued White with blue eyes) had a litter of 5 kits, 2 of which my daughter still has. (All 5 were different! It was amazing!) When we finally get acreage, I tease that I am going to rescue all the bunnies that need rescuing! We’ll have a giant outdoor rabbitry! I had a giant “yard bunny” that thought she was a Golden Retriever, she was even named Fido. When I moved, the family that moved in fell in love with her, so I let her stay where she was happy. Anyway, Shadow is a house rabbit-can’t wait ’til it’s warm enough to take him out to play in the yard. (It’s fully fenced and has chicken wire reinforcement, and he will be supervised at all times!) He is a spoiled little BIG boy, and he probably eats better than anyone else in this home! He is about 5 months old now and will be getting neutered not soon enough! (Anyone who is new to house rabbits and has a male bunny will eventually realize you cannot keep an unneutered male in the house!) I look forward to being part of this online community!
