Hi Guys
I’ve been searching and reading the website for a few months now and thought it might be time to introduce myself and the buns.
My name is Mhairi and I live in Edinburgh. I’m currently living in a flat with my boyfriend but we bought a house back in November which is so close to being ready to move into that I can almost feel the new carpet beneath my feet and smell the paint on the walls…can you tell I’m excited
I grew up having rabbits. We occasionally had our own but my mum was a nursery nurse back when they used to keep rabbits as pets in the school and we used to look after them at weekends and major holidays. It’s been about 10 years though since my last rabbit passed and I always said I’d like to have more when I get my own place.
We have 3 Rabbits.
Fluffy, a 7/8 month old tortoise coloured dutch cross who has been spayed. She was removed from a group of other rabbits as she was either being bullied or was the bully-er. She was quite skittish when she came home but is slowly finding her way and making herself at home. We’ve had her about 3 months now and she’s turned into an excellent house rabbit (despite a small fondness for charger cables
)
Simba, a lion head lop about 3 months old (maybe slightly older). He is mainly white with brown/fawn/black markings. He has massive back paws and a lovely calm demeanor. He was adopted along side his wee friend Smudge. Smudge is a (I think) dwarf lop again about 3 months old (maybe younger or maybe I think that because of this size?). He’s tiny
Simba is the dominant one of that pair…at the moment he’s sitting half on top of Smudge eating hay
When we got Fluffy, we knew we’d eventually like to get her a companion but maybe weren’t expecting to find them so soon! But it was love at first sight and we had the cage space so decided to go for them since the charity could not reserve them for us.
Both boys need to be neutered, and we are seeing the vet about that today (and getting our vaccinations). We are hoping to bond the three of them into a little group and I’m about to head over to the bonding part of the forum to ask some questions about that
I’d like to say thanks for all the information here, I’ve learnt so much that I didn’t realise I know about rabbits
