I already posted for help elsewhere before I realized there was an intro page! Opps! Haha!
It’s been five years since I had a bunny now, though I have had many in the past, two of which were English Angoras. I have loved them since I got my first bunny at the age of eleven. But living situations prevented me from having one until now.
Stormy is a ten week old black English with a lot of personality. I just got her Saturday. She has been a little skittish so far and has only allowed head pets on her own terms (I can sneak one in if she is laying too comfortably to bother moving away) but she was binkying all over the place when I let her out on the first day. Yesterday she even hopped right into my lap to check things out.
She has only been fed hay, pellet and water so far and isn’t taking to apple as happily as I expected her too. She took one bite and spat it out. Haha! I’m thinking some greens next week, something not so sweet.
I’m surprisingly anxious about her! Haha! It’s been so long since I’ve had a bun and I worry about everything. Especially our heat…
Right now I am grappling with shearing her, it’s so hot where I live (mid 90’s) and even with the air conditioner I can only get it to be 70 at the lowest. She came from the coast where it is overcast and 60-65 degrees almost all the time. I can’t decide if shearing her would be better or if I should just let her get use to the warmer weather. If anyone has advice on that feel free to chip in!
Anyway I’m glad to have found a great online community! Feel free to to ask any questions!
