Hi! Welcome!
Rabbits are better with a companion. They will have someone to groom, and play with rabbit style
Rabbits are most active during dawn and dusk and they do whatever they want the rest of the day. Rabbits are awake most of the time and you probably can not give it constant all the time attention so a friend would be better. I would reccomend getting your rabbit(s) from a shelter. That’s where I got my 2. They were already bonded. They were a little scared at first, but now they are the sweetest and most kind pets ever. This morning I was rubbing one of mine behind the ears and he was licking me until his tongue was dry!
I personal do take my bonded rabbits to the vet together because it’s less stressful for them. You don’t have to though. I practice agility with one of mine about 45 minutes a couple times a week and his best friend doesn’t seem to mind him gone. She actually likes the peace for a while!
I like using x-pens because they are easier to clean and my rabbits have so much room to binky.
For the floor of the NIC cage, you can just put a sheet of linoleum on top of a piece of wood. You can put a trim around the edges so all the hay and poop doesn’t go all over your floor. Most bunnies are big chewers so don’t be surprised if you are replacing the trim. Also, you don’t want the bunny to get sick from eating the linoleum so put fleece on top of it. Since it sounds like you might be getting two bunnies. Make sure that you have all the room for both of them. You can attach an x-pen to the cage if you want.
Hope I helped.
