I adopted a year-old doe yesterday, and as you can (hopefully) see, she’s my avatar. I named her Kitty, and now we’re waiting til I get paid to get her a proper cage and a litterpan or five. I’m excited to get to know her, and visiting the site gave me peace of mind in terms of the things I didn’t yet know. She’s already super friendly, but sometimes she sprays. Waiting on a vet to send an email back about what it would cost to spay her. She’s been performing a mating dance for me at nighttime, which I find silly, in a respectful sort of way. Her outgoing nature has surprised me somewhat, and the way she’s already started laying beside me and sitting on my lap and licking me is definitely welcome.
I only have one picture of her so far, but this is an enlarged version! (Whoops, had to fix that)

As for me, I’m totally new to bunnies. I have owned a dozen other sorts of pets, but not yet a rabbit until now. She is definitely unique, and I’m loving it.
Other than this, I don’t know what to say! I’m an artist, a caretaker, and an animal lover. 21 years old, and living in Montana.
So, hello BinkyBunny forums, from Liz and Kitty :3
Welcome! Kitty is so beautiful! I love her markings. Rabbits are amazing creatures. I don’t know if you know this, but most bunny owners would love to have their bunny lick them after only a couple days
I know I would!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to figure out which breeds she’s got mixed into her. She’s got these long tufts right between her ears, and her back markings suggest she has some broken colored English Spot in there somewhere. They form a sharp line down the middle toward her tail. Then again, I’m inexperienced and have no clue if that could possibly be true.
Thank you for the compliments. I had a feeling it wasn’t terribly ordinary for her to be so friendly, but I think I was lucky that her previous owner was kind to her and handled her seemingly often!
Your bunbun is adorable! Care to tell me about him or her?
Welcome to the forum! You sound so nice!
Kitty is pretty, (oh my, that rhymes!) and I love her name!
I look forward to hearing more from you on the forum ![]()
Thank you, Tessie! You, and everyone else on the site have been so kind in answering my (many) questions and welcoming me here. This seems like a great place to learn about my new family member through other folks’ experience and advice, and I look forward as well to become more entangled in it. I feel like my bunny addiction has only just begun.
Honestly, and I hope I don’t offend anyone because I would never dream of being cruel to her or any other animal, I was going to jokingly name her Lunch, but I felt bad and chose Kitty instead. Still random, but much less imposing.
Hahahaha! Lunch! That’s a good joke ![]()
Although over time you’ll probably get sick of people making jokes about eating your bunny (It happens to all of us fairly often).![]()
Maybe calling her that would have avoided that problem!
It’s great to hear you like it here! I learnt almost everything I know from the forum.
Oh, I’d come up with something to snap back with right quick if someone said anything of the sort to me. Someone once said something of the sort to me when my cat snatched up my hamster a long while back. I had gone to get another, a blackbear hamster, and they said, “Oh, going to buy some more cat food?”
How could I not! Everyone is so informative and easygoing. Its such a great place to talk leisurely about our little loves. I’m already looking forward to the relationship I’m going to have with Kitty. From what I can tell, its already got a great start.
Have you got many rabbits? The one you have as your avatar is downright precious.
Yes, I have two.
That’s Luna in my picture. She’s a French Lop. I also have Teddy who is a Continental Giant. There’s lots of pictures on my profile if you want to see, haha!
Aw, she sounds adorable. Looney Tunes is a cute nickname for sure. How big is Teddy? He has some big ears to grow into! So cute.
Kitty seems to be a mix between 2 or 3 different things, but I couldn’t possibly know what. But she IS a playful and happy bunny. She likes to dart onto my bed and pounce on my fiance while he’s working. She can be a little bossy, too, but I think she’ll soon learn to behave. Or not! I may just have a naughty bunny.
Welcome to BB! I love Kitty’s markings. Lunch isn’t bad, my hubby calls Bumpy “Dinner” all the time. To counter those rabbit-for-dinner remarks I always tell them, “Between the setup cost, the neuter, and the cost of the rabbit himself, it comes to about $122 a pound, and I refuse to pay those kind of prices for food.” ![]()
Welcome and congrats on being a new bunny owner. If she is like my 2 she will take over your life but in a good way!
Manic, thats definitely a good comeback. Bumpy is adorable! Looks like a fluffy lil gingersnap. :]
Sindriona, thank you! She’s definitely started taking over in in good ways <3 She's sweet until she decides I need a urine bath!
Haha when I first got Lily and showed one of my employers a picture, the first thing she said was “I could make a cacciatore!”
Kitty’s so cute. I think she may have a little lionhead in her from the fluff around her ears.
Oh my! Its a shame so many people think of them as food rather than pets.
Thank you! I think she does have a bit in her, as well as a bit English spot since the gray in her comes to a long, sharp point starting halfway down her back and ending an inch or two above her tail. But I can’t be certain. Either way, she’s definitely a cutie.
Your lil bun is making quite a serious face in your picture! Super adorable. I don’t think I’ve seen an ugly bunny before, anyhow!
I have three bunnies (soon to four) the one in my avatar in Muffin, my foster rabbit. I also have two others. Muffin is getting paired this week ![]()
Thats a good bit of bunnies. I can barely handle just the one!
Thats sweet. What sort of personality does she have? I hope it goes well.
Aw she’s lovely!
Welcome and Liz & Kitty.
I agree she definitely has some lionhead in her.
Does she have a little bit of brown fur on the back of her neck and near the nostrils? It’s hard to tell from the picture but I thought I could see a little…
Anyway, her colouring looks like it might be blue otter but with the “broken” pattern.
