Sorry I haven’t been on in awhile! They’re pretty tame, they sometimes will let me pet them and like to investigate me and climb all over me, and jump on my face lol. But they’re not completely bonded to me, so I can’t have them outside of our bonding tent or bathroom. i think Oliver is more interested in them then they are of him lol. I have their cages pretty close to each other now so they kind of get used to each other.
Sugar gliders are a lot of work, and a huge commitment. They live up to 15 years, you need to have at least two, make sure they’re legal in your area , and find a vet that can take them. They require a large cage, a very specific diet, and there’s so much mis-information out there, and it’s sad how some of them are housed and fed. They also need a lot of stimulation, toys, play-time, and that’s also a big reason why you need two.
They make great pets, but they require a lot of work. Once they are bonded to you, it is quite rewarding. They will basically see you as part of their family, and the bond is as strong, or even stronger than a dog’s love for it’s owner. It’s also important not to separate them from loved ones because it can cause severe depression, like a human almost. Sorry for the rant, they’re just awesome little critters! Lol
